Command a strike force of marines, mercenaries, and criminals in a distant system, cut off from the Core Worlds. At the lawless frontier, the Wayback system is controlled by pirate warlords, questionable corporations, and fractured planetary governments who struggle for a new order. Though you initially lead your strike force of marines from aboard the strike cruiser TCRN Impetus, you'll quickly need to unite the disparate locals under your leadership to defeat an unknown threat. Fielding tanks, mechs, and infantry squads with a massive selection of equipment to choose from, you’ll train your troops, plan out operations, and engage in deadly tactical battles.
Thought there was another topic for this game with a lot more comments.
Whatever, here's the latest update from the devs' discord:

Hey @everyone! As promised, we have some updates for you.
At Gamescom earlier this week, Jan and Paul were able to give press and content creators some hands-on time with MENACE. Expect to see some new information and footage from those sessions in the coming weeks.
We know that you all are eager to get your hands on the game as well, so we’re excited to share that the development team will be releasing a demo of the game in late September! Expect more info on that in the next few weeks.
For the sake of transparency, we’d also like to confirm that MENACE will not be released in Q3 of this year as originally planned. We plan to share another community update in early September regarding our new release timeline, so keep an eye out for that.
Thank you all for your ongoing support of the game and the team, and for your patience as they make MENACE the best it can be. We look forward to hearing all of your thoughts on the upcoming demo!

The delay is unsurprising; good news about a demo, though.
Everyone says is great, so not sure how its half-arsed.
Didnt try yet though.
It does feel a bit "half arsed", it just feels very plain, simplistic, not sure how to put it any better, will play some more later today but doing a few missions last night didnt feel like much.
Yeah... the missions are simply boring, and the entire game mechanic is archaic: once you've committed to making a move with one squad, you can't switch over to another one, and then back. I mean, this has been present in older games like JA3 or Gears Tactics already.
Also, the fact that your squads don't hit shit, and seemingly, the only way to play is to suppress then flank gets stale really fast.
Not been impressed with what i've seen so far, though haven't played myself.
I do think the previous game, Battle Brothers, is extremely overrated, and i have a lot of hours in it (because yes, its a game you have to put hours into before you can properly judge it).
Yup, refunded at 110 minutes, just not feeling it. I was expecting more Xcomish experience or something but this just feels like a game made in the 90s or something with how over simplified everything is and feels like.
