And here's a list of improvements over the PS2 version:
* The draw distance will be considerably higher in both the PC and Xbox versions.
* The textures for the PS2 version of the game were scaled down from how they were meant to be. A higher level of polygons and detail will appear in the game, and the game will visually look like it was meant to look.
* Shadows and real-time reflections will be added to the game.
* Both the PC and the Xbox versions will allow you to import your own MP3 songs for listening on the in-game radio. You can choose either to play your songs back to back, or have them wrapped in a radio station format, with original San Andreas advertisements, DJ commentary and weather bulletins inbetween.
* A replay mode will exist, allowing you to replay the last 30 seconds of gameplay, save the replay, and play it later.
* The 2-player mode will be available in the Xbox version, but not in the PC version.
* In the Xbox version, you will be able to move the camera around your player or vehicle with the right ministick.
* The game audio will be upgraded, featuring Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
* You will once again be able to play GTA in the widescreen mode.

Beat it on the PS2, and will do it again. I think this was the best game of 04 hands down!!!

looks good, some nice improvements which was to be expected considering what they had to do to get a decent version out for Ps2, Glad i waited

i hope they get rid of the stutters which are present in VC on the xbox especially when on foot... i'd rather have it smooth and slightly less shiny
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Awsome, finally...I so hope they improved the gfx, the ps2 ver looked like shit.

never played it on the PS2, but isnt there 2 player mode on the PS2 aswell?
I'd like to know more about that mode, if it's like coop where both walk around and do whatever you want it would be awsome with peds and traffic etc.

Well I did read it, however, from my experience, the company's line regarding a game is sometimes not the reality. Visuals are not everything, but it sure is something, which as I said, hope to see it much improved on the the X.

gotta say its been hard not to play this or even look at it on the ps2 as i am a big grand theft fan and have finished them all 2d and 3d but realiased after finishing grand theft 3 & vice city on xbox i know that san andreas will be so much better on the xbox as well so i have made myself wait for it, and only about 4 weeks to go
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

i think they should add a few more missions for the pc and dif 1s for the xbox. Wouldn't be hard to put these in even as "secret" side missions. There's gotta be more of an incetive other than: if you dont have a ps2.

the incentive to own this is its the same great/fantastic game as the ps2 version but with much better graphics/draw distance etc... so how great is that???

There are some side missions that have a 2 player option in the ps2 version, so yes they are in the ps2 version too.

Not played it on the PS2 so i have no idea how it is but i bet it's going to be superb from what i have heard,seen and read

Maybe if you have a very good gamepad for your PC but I would never play this game with a keyboard+mouse because it was designed as a console game with a controller in mind. There were not even headshots in GTA3/VC so there's no reason at all to play it with keyboard+mouse. And I don't want to even imagine how bad the driving controls must be with a keyboard. Also I doubt that it will look significantly better on PC than on Xbox since Rockstar doesn't care that much about PC gamers. So I would choose the bigger TV screen. When I tried GTA3 on PC I didn't see any difference compared to the PS2 version.

^1600x1200 with AA+AF its going to look a fair bit better than on ps2 or xbox.. and i have a ps2 pad hooked up to my PC
i envy those who going to play this for this first time as i have already played this for @7 months, the first 2 months virtually solid, this is a fantastic game.

The console version were designed for consoles and gamepads, the pc version is designed for pc's since the "looking" is done using the mouse and this is tons better than looking with a gamepad.
There were headshots in vice city and gta3. One shot to the head and it flew off.
