Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-op FPS that puts you on the far-off front lines of an all-out battle against the Bugs! Squad up, grab your rifle, and do your part as an elite Deep Space Vanguard Trooper set to take back planets claimed by the Arachnid threat!
After initially announcing Starship Troopers: Extermination last November, developer Offworld Industries has that the 16-player, squad-based co-op FPS will arrive in Early Access on Steam on May 17th. The team plans on using Early Access to collaborate with the community through the game’s earliest development stages, relying on their feedback to help guide what features and mechanics to build upon before the game’s eventual transition into 1.0.
Yeah the idea is fine, 16 player PvE game based on good IP. The challenges are, not release buggy mess, have enough content for 40-60 hours of game. I guess all these games come with the token DLC fair, if derps want it fine.
I can't remember if this has base building but that would add replayability to the game provided you can balance it which isn't easy. I.e 10mins prepare / defend.
Also, why didn’t all the characters in the film had that magic syringe to heal up whenever they were attacked by the aliens? Brain bug sucking Zander’s brain? No problem, just stick himself with the syringe in the chest, and a new brain pops up!

Just feels "cheap". The films original score being absent, combined with the shitty, lackluster, weapon sound effects really hurt it in the "epic feel" department.
Leo also had a point - magic revive syringe should not be be a thing. What they should have done instead was to put you in a reinforcement pool when you die - when the pool fills up enough a count down timer starts and you are hot-dropped via air transport as a reinforcement wave when the timer hits zero. Imagine how much cooler that would be? Every death would have meaning, as there's no guarantee the survivors would be able to hold out till the next reinforcement wave.
As it stands, this is just another halfassed early access cashing in on the name.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

The weapon effects sound pretty bad. Then I wouldn't invest that much into immersion in this kind of game. As a player my immersion is immediately broken in any title where other players are going to liberally use the microphone "Who's going there!, I'm getting ShoT!, Do you need X?, How do I rebind my jump key!? I'm reloading, blah blah".
You described what i expected for respawn, i guess player feedback wanted an instant revive mechanic :/
If this was a single player game, absolutely you better nail the sound fx, music etc.
I could understand saying that you suck at Soulsborne games or I don't know, fighting games without a gamepad.. but a goddamn FPS ? That's the worst kind of game to play with a gamepad..

I also refunded after one hour.
I don’t understand the 93% positive reviews: gunplay is cheap, it is a mess and very confusing with 16 players, it lags on 13900K + 4090….
