The anticipated follow-up to Carol Danvers’ origin story takes place after the Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel,” which introduced Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. the young, New Jersey superhero Ms. Marvel.
“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe.”
Each movie marvel makes goes further in the ratio of: cheesy/funny scene because it's awkward vs actual action movie.
And yes, I am being super sensitive to it again.
But another uninspiring copy/paste trailer of: Music starts, hit peak, pauses to hear the people do a quippy one liner about an awkward situation, repeat.
Not that I don't enjoy humor in my movies. Its my main type of movie I love is comedies...but come on marvel, does everyone of the movies now need to be a cntl-c cntl-v of bland beat to death rehashed was only mildly funny the first dozen times, humor?

@tonizito Well to be fair, Ms. Marvel was always female since 1977 (why its Ms. Marvel), so its not shoehorning women into the roles for 'equality'. Not sure what else they could do since its a female character in all 4 iterations over the years, [one being Pakistani American]: Danvers, Ventura, Sofen, Khan
But I agree, the movie itself looks shallow and vapid regardless of that

It's funny how in the early days every marvel movie was something to look forward to. It might not have been very good, but enjoyable in it's own way. Now there is more or less nothing. Iconic characters being replaced (mostly Robert Downey at the top of my head)and new movies looking weird, pandering to one demographic or another and so completely uninteresting you just don't bother. Sadness to be sure.
I think even the pandering could be OK. If the movie wasn't the same Mad Libs sheet just filled out with different nouns and verbs it feels like.
You seen one you seen them all as far as formula goes: Each one is a 'hero's journey' circle plot. BUT they are all the same damn shallow narrative tool of one type of hero's journey just with different setting, names, and situation. Then the same lame comedy style of 'its funnah because it's an awkward interaction'...repeat for 2 hours.
I really feels like Marvel is doing what a 4 year old does when they tell a joke people laugh at. They just keep repeating it over..and over trying to get people to laugh because it must be comedy gold, the adults giggled at it. They will LOVE it just as much the 15th time I tell it.

Yeah there is little chance they'll evolve their tried and tested formula as long as it sells. We can only hope it doesn't spread too much, like it apparently did for the Dungeons and dragons movie.

The only reason they were looked forward to is because this film synergy thing was new. Go back and watch them again and nearly all of them are mediocre to garbage. And then for Iron Man you realise it's just Robery Downey Jr as Robery Downey Jr who is nowhere near the level of someone like Christian Bale.
It became old fast, the source material is stale. How much can you do with superhero trope until you start to deconstruct it. And we even get that with the Boys and other shows.
Disney thought what? Thay they can milk it for 50 years? They can't even do a good stuff with Star Wars where you have more human characters and even there they focus mostly (in movies) on space wizards.
Not too mention you would have to employ a genius screen writer that could spit out of something more than bad guy arrive, bad guy wants to enslave, destory, kill sth. Good guy wins.
Fuck it's boring but that's the rules of sups stories. Something more and it's a deconstruction but Marvel won't really allow it beside female version of their IP character.

MSheU characters do not need a hero's journey. They are flawless from the beginning.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
At least Critical Drinker (which I tend to like) and his infantile 50-year old friends will have something to whine about. Sometimes I think if not for Disney people like Nerdotic would go broke.

Honestly, I am basically considering boycotting most of Disney stuff at this point, they clearly promoting radical feminist and self righteous agenda.
I don't mind LGBTQ and women representation, but stuffs like She Hulk , the Marvels and even main Star Wars to a degree is really going to a direction that are not only mediocre to bad, they plain and simply promoting Misandry.
Some stuffs that they publishing still look decent though and movies like No Way Home were good , but they were not only mostly lacked
that agenda, Disney simply were not directly producing it.
The Marvels trailer released on Tuesday hasn’t been well received by fans as it’s the most disliked Marvel movie trailer on YouTube, which doesn’t bode well for Kevin Feige’s Phase 5 which has already started out as a disaster and follows Phase 4 which was completely horrible.
The Marvels trailer has nearly 200k dislikes on the official Marvel YouTube channel with 305k likes; only the She-Hulk trailer has more dislikes with 553k dislikes.
Not sure what else they expected.
Kids cartoon level of comedy and slapstick humor, mixed with Brie Larson who was criticized as being too snarky unlikable and condescending, written into a role that makes her character exactly that on purpose this time.
