Basically, Batman is going to be WB's Assassin's Creed in terms of frequent sequels and Rocksteady will never work on any other game until the franchise loses its steam.

But I see already one defining feature that is splitting the two franchises apart: One is extremely well written, the sequel being better than the original, and a huge array of interesting characters to pull from, while the other is just going downhill and $$$ milking.
As someone said in the City thread, it is very rarely that we see such a good of a sequel. Even I was skeptical when they quickly announced the sequel back in 2009, but now I don't worry. Obviously there is a lot of love for the source material in the writing staff and art department, and it shows.

Have they been set up as well as this? City practically beats you over the head with this. If you'd do some side missions ( ), you'd know. |

Yes, they might crumble at this game's and the previous one's success, but it seems they are holding up pretty well. And they were a relatively new and unknown dev team before Asylum, so even more hats off to them.  |

didnt the mods get rid of the bf4 thread for less than this...
well whatever, this is just a spam thread made just for the hell of it, based on a 'first' mentality. if it stays open, cool, if not then great. i just think its silly to make a topic already based on a game that wont even be out for another couple of years.
edit because im not going to make new topics and continue to spam:

Well, a new Superman movie is coming in 2013, so you never know, they might do Superman: Krypton Asylum.  |

The only way I can see them topping Arkham City is if the next game takes place in all of Gotham City and you can use Batman's vehicles.

I doubt this would be possible from technical standpoint on UE3 on this generation of hurrdurrsoles. The fact that the game looks so much better and runs as smooth as the original, that is already very impressive. But I fear it would be nearly impossible to have a larger city, with roaming vehicles and pedestrians, unless you are willing to reduce graphic potency to Wheelman/DC Universe Online. I rather they don't. 
Bigger isn't always better (although it is here), and they can have a great story without having to do a GTA. |

well... definitely not buying this one even if it does kick ass then, as good as a developer could ever possibly be, none can ever be good enough i can justify buying a product from the same IP twice in a year, it just feels like encouraging laziness.
let me finish relishing in the afterglow of one of the few games i actually felt like buying this year before you attach another fucking pricetag to the same god damn series.
