So one of my external 8tb harddrives decided to throw in the towel. At first i thought it was the powersupply, but it looks like its the controller card on it.
Seagate don't let people buy spareparts, they only give stuff to people with warranty.
So my question now is, does anyone know where i can get a controller card to a 8TB BarraCuda drive? (WSC2HQEW)
I found one at ebay that wanted some insane money. Like 40% of what the actual drive cost me...
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

You need the board for the drive itself as in on the physical drive itself?
Or the enclosure it was in died? If that just get an external hotswap dock and slap your drive in it.
Assuming since you said you thought it was the power supply, it had to be an enclosure it was in.

why though, i agree with sumzero, just get a external hotswap dock, super easy, can probably get one for 50:- or less on Tradera. of course its going to get expensive to get the card itself, not worth either the trouble or the cost.

ok, that explains it, i thought you meant the controller / port on the case. i've had those things break and i've just moved the HDD out.

Damn that HDD must have some fire hobo porn on it
No chance that a controller card from the smaller versions of the HDD is compatible?

@tonizito
What I was thinking, find the model of the card not the HDD. They rarely make one control card for only one model of a HDD. Usually it's shared across a family or range of them.
If it matches that family, grab a 1TB version and sacrifice it for your 8TB one.
