i must have seen like 100 videos on Police Activity and the videos aren't gory (=blood and guts)... There are videos of people getting shot straight in the face and meh, if you've seen movies then the amount of gore will be super tame in comparison, and usually not even visible. Obviously it's gruesome that it's real people though, but gory, no.

Documentingreality is better IMO. There's a one time $20 fee after a while (I haven't paid it, you don't need to if you use VPN) but it doesn't come across as a site glorifying gore for the unhinged. There's also VERY interesting insight to many of the threads there
like from a scenario in a game... you're just trying to do your quest, and out of nowhere comes the usual trash mob with a some crap-tier weapon, you shoot him dead long before he can get to you.
crazy thing is i've seen pretty much all their videos and it's not even THAT uncommon.. I remember several similar videos where its just a random dude trying to kill them, unrelated to what they're doing. In one there's a cop doing regular traffic stop work and out from a random car comes a dude wielding an axe!

The guy knew he was fucked, he had meth, firearms and shit in the car with a long wrap sheet of offenses, that's why he had to be dragged from the car. How your retarded decision making heads to killing cops, in any sane country you just don't have the option to grab a firearm in distress. He was so fast, even without the distraction I don't think those cops would have been able to avoid being shot there.
A deadly situation is always on the cards in the states, if someone gets emotional they can just start shooting at any time.
Again, not sure i think its the same thing at all, what i post here isnt about Police brutality its just overall activity, if you saw the video the police got knocked out unconscious and then the witnesses said the the perp did absolutely nothing and the police just decided to kill him (so a total lie to get cops convicted of murder).
Police cameras is a good thing, from both ends..
The brutality thread should be about cops doing illegal things and getting caught..

See that's where I disagree. He 100% did something for sure, should have had his ass beat if needed to arrest him.
But cops brought a gun to a fist fight. I see it as: cops should not be allowed to do, what I cannot do in self defense.
If I shot a guy 7 times for punching my friend. Well it wouldn't be praised as "Well? what he expect?"

that might be our perspective as viewers, but a police is obviously trained to understand what a worst case scenario can be in a situation like that and they must act quickly. In this case he knocked out the first police officer and was going after the second, what could have happened if he knocked out the second one or grabbed the knocked out policeman's weapon or knocked out both and decided they needed a bullet in the head? It was a super chaotic scenario with the sister trying to prevent the police work etc. If anyone is guilty of his death its her, if she hadn't interfered it would have been a more controlled situation.
tasers are great though, but here where you have him just next to you, maybe with body contact, not sure it would work + there are people who can absolutely take a taser without breaking a sweat, for some reason.
if police only could use their fists here... i dont think that would end well in many scenarios, and i dont think any women would like to become police, or most men either actually. that would be very dangerous. how would you even know if someone is unarmed, ask them first so you are on equal terms?
I'd say, at least for US cops. You are far over estimating the assessment and situational training they get.
They are FAR too under trained, in many facets of the job they do. For some of it its a 4 hour class (watch a video) and you are set out into the world for however long you are on the force.
If it helps drive home the point, that cop friend of mine I have said he got more gun control training, then he did for de-escalating and disarming situations training. AND he gets more annual training and 'tests' on firearm usage and safety. He's never had another class in situational training.

That might be true, not a fault of the cop then, then in his mind the weapon is the solution. But I am not so sure talking or other non aggressive measures with an ultra aggressive + drunk and/or high person would work, so not sure the outcome would have been different. It seemed like everyone was drunk out of their mind, certainly doesnt help.
Seems to work everywhere else in the world that has police without issued 9mm. Sure they have drunk people that are aggressive and might have knifes or who knows what.
I Do get the,what if he reached for the gun, argument. But YOU brought the gun...you need to be trained in how to prevent that as much as possible. Not resort to it because you just think he might.
US Police, a lot of them totally ignore the "Your sidearm is a last resort" training, well suggestion they are not trained on it, just told to do that.
I've had, and seen it on others, times where they pull it before even saying anything or initiating contact: get out of car, casually pull out firearm, aim it THEN start talking. In some situation yea, totally valid. Some..TOTALLY was not needed.
When I was 20 something...fuck I dont remember, my 2rd arrest. I had a cop, no lie or fluffing it up, chase me and when he got me on the ground (well ran at me, I didn't run/ Report said he 'chased me'), tapped side of my head with the side of his gun and went "You know what this is?! You know what it means when I tell you to get on the ground?! Good way to get shot stupid" (Exact word, I will remember that absurdity forever).
Yea you needed to pull that gun, point it at me with no indication you was there, and yell "GET ON THE GROUND!!!" startling me into a frozen state for a few seconds, then tackling me. All over some 20 somethings being 'suspicious' in a park.
We was there drinking after hours (got arrested for that). at a picnic table..that was well lit by the park lights.
