The Samurai and the Prisoner (Japanese: Kokurojo / 黒牢城) is directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and based on Honobu Yonezawa’s novel Kurojō. The film premiered at Cannes 2026 and released in Japan on June 19, with a US release by Janus Films starting July 31, 2026.

Looks like a 70s movie Very Happy And even the sunny outdoor scenes look dark. Still looks pretty cool though Smile

The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.
And you may pour us away like soup. Like we're pretty broken flowers.
