I had this problem also, it was fixed by upgrading my graphics drivers. Go to the ATI site, don't use the Windows Update drivers.

I've found this on the TB forum:

If someone finds out a solution to the "invisible pedestrians"-graphical error, then please post it here.
HIS Excalibur Radeon 9200SE
DirectX 9.0c
Windows XP
Tried the newest catalyst drivers 5.6, doesnt help.
Uninstalled everything and installed the newest omega drivers, dosent help.
Updated the Nforce2 chipset, doesnt help.
Changed graph res from 640*480 to highest, doesnt help.
Changed from high to lowest, doesnt help.
Nothing I tried helped, the people are still invisible...Though - it became a little better in 640*480 resolution.
Help is appreciated.
Set Frame Limiter to "ON". You can find the setting in-game under Display Setup>Advanced>Frame Limiter
setting frame limiter doesn't help, but in my case setting 640x480 and low details helped, but it is quite confusing to play on this res. Maybe someone found out another solution

Seems the mobility radeon 9200 is not supported so I can't use this 4.9 release. I want to try the omega drivers based on cat 4.9 but I can't find it anymore on the net. Only later versions are there, so i tried omega drivers based on cat 5.4 with no succes however....still ghost town Andreas. Anyone can help me with a magic link to drivers to use with my mobility radeon 9200 on my acer aspire 1450 laptop?
