Take a look at the rip. see if you can see *.reg file and double click on it.

Maybe make a notepad version(copy/paste) of what fenris wrote, and rename the extension to .reg, then double click it, not sure if this might work ...
I'm getting the DVD version anyway, no more myth BS ...

Ok, the game working - but...
I turn on the game, watching first movie, start game.
Henry wake up and hea strange voice, get up to the kitchen. I'm looking on a face in the wall and when i'm back the monster get up from the walll - now the second movie turns. But after that game escapeing to the windows. I've trying to skip the demo but game still get up to the windows. Can somebody help ?

Sorry that I wriet it again but I really need help with it. I hope somebody know how to repair it. I have Radeon 9000 Pro. PLEASE HELP. I would glad if somebody have SAVE after this action - maybe it works. If somebody could send me... kolbe11@o2.pl

Hi All,
the game is working but with one more error, after going to the hole in the bathroom, (to the bright light at the end of the tunnel) an error ocurs and no more game, i get this error...
silent hill 4.exe error

I have an GeForce 3 with latest drivers, P4 2.6 GHz , and 512
Any ideas?

It's also worth noting that you have to run the SETUP.BAT file after the game is installed. If you don't, you won't have unpacked any of the cab data. All the SETUP.EXE does is copy the cabfiles to your hard drive and set up a basic file tree.
Run the SETUP.BAT file in the game directory, wait for it to decompress all the cab's (this takes awhile, there's alot of shit there). After that, you MUST set up the registry for the game. The registry has already been posted here 2 times, so there's no point in me listing it here.
The release was missing this registry patch, and the proper installation instructions. There should have been a step prior to step 3 that reads Run the SETUP.BAT file.
The game for myself works 100%. I've completed it beginning to end several times to do the alternate endings and try different things to achieve a better score. I played this game alone in the dark and it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up at times.
