The PSP-Dev team has pulled a fast one and released the exploit early. This exploit has been confirmed to work. Again this exploit is for FIRMWARE V1.50 ONLY . Use at your own risk. Apparently you have to swap the mem sticks as quickly as possible for this to work. The file contains all the information and a program you will need to make it run. More info to come as it develops.

Its official.

Please note that this "exploit" does not allow you to run ISO, or illegal games on your PSP. It only allows a person to boot a homebrew application on they're PSP. Use this exploit at your own risk I HAVE NOT TESTED IT.

Extra Notes
2 Memory Sticks are required

yups and it might damage the memory stick and the PSP Razz
So I think I'll wait before taking this further... I got a homebrew game and the nes emulator working.

Is this the same loader that the PSP warez group was talking about? Cause I thought theirs was supposed to be an entirely new BIOS.

No this isn't a loader at all, though, some people call it a loader. This merely tricks the PSP through the swapping of memory sticks. While I guess it's better than nothing to run homebrew on 1.5 using this trick, it is merely that, a trick. It isn't really a hack. Yes it can do damage as well; ie; damaging your memory sticks or the pins that hold the memory sticks in place as you and I know that memory sticks aren't made for swaping every 10 minutes or so. Clever, but not a hcak by any means. You're better off waiting for a real hack. Just my 2 cents.

Single Memory Stick Version of Running Homebrew on v1.50

There is now a method to run homebrew on a v1.50 PSP using only 1 memory stick. Please read this carefully and use this at your own risk. For this version you will need the Swaploit file available here, and a PC Memory Stick Reader. You can get the tuitorial below.

You can get this file in our PSP Downloads section here.

Direct paste from below..

It looks like new games like Coded Arms will force you to install the latest update if you havent already.

this screen shows what will show up if you dont have the firmware version it requires

This shows what the umd icon will look like if it has the update on the disc

so either you like it or not if you want to play the new games your homebrew experience may be short lived especially if you want to be able to play the new psp games that comes out in the future

A guy over at psphacks found a way to let the PSP think its 1.5X so I dont think that will be a problem.
