Can't stand people who haven't learned to spell properly, or are too bored or just lazy typing, so they write 'U' instead of you and 'R' instead of are, it makes them seem stupid, and if their so slow at writing the words they have to use letters instead of full words, they should do something else other than being in front of the computer.

I abbreviate because it's easier, nothin stupid about it really. I think u should be doin somethin else in front of the computer other than moanin about how people type

I abbreviated when I was a younger computer user, but as I've grown up I've found my english in general has improved and so has my typing speed, so I've not needed to abbreviate. It's actually easier for me not to as it is habit to type proper grammar and spelling.

Sadly, homo sapiens is lazy by it's very nature, so I don't even bother pointing out that most people in fora are spelling like chimps, it'll only get you flamed to a crisp

Seriously, people that get pissed off when someone uses abbreviations or makes a typing/grammar error has a complex I like to call "fagboycomplex".
What does it matter if someone has not masterd English in a way where he makes no errors at all? My English is not the best, but you do get my point and that's what It's about, basically. Don't act gay and get pissed when someone has flawed grammar or when someone uses abbreviations. That someone may not speak English as well as you, but for all you know he could be a fucking rocket scientist in a language you only know two words of.
Respect people. You're not better than someone only because you speak, write english without errors.

I don't mind some abbreviation (I rarely use it, as Phluxed pointed out, you get used to it.) I don't mind it as long as it isn't deliberate/extensive.
Normal abbrevioation:
wtf is wrong with you people?!
Bad abbreviation:
wtfs wrng w/ u ppl

I don't think he was referring to those who can't type properly because they aren't english but people who may or may not be english using "u" and "r". It's not an error, it's deliberate.
If the author of something isn't willing to sacrifice milliseconds to type a word properly then they're obviously incapable of typing anything worth reading.
