I installed the Aston shell on my x64 copy of Windows XP PRO. To be able to make it work I had to manually change the registry key for the shell from 'Explorer.exe' to the Aston executable.
Now I want to change back to explorer, but changing that shell registry value back to Explorer.exe has no effect. It still starts the Aston executable instead of explorer.
I tried removing Aston, but it only resulted in that no shell started at all, and when I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del to start explorer.exe manually it just started the explorer-file-manger window, no desktop shell.
What do you think the problem could be?
Explorer works fine as a browser etc, but it simply will not start as the shell. I also did a registry search looking for 'Aston.exe' but I was only able to find uninstall information etc, no other values pointing it to be a shell.
