Is it OK to put a Laptop onto or Next to a TV or can it mark the TV Screen?? (Like when you put a magnet next to a TV, It marks the screen). I was thinging it might be a bad idea putting the laptop ontop of the TV because of the magnets in the Hard drive etc BUT when you think of it, They dont have the power to attract Metal objects when in the laptop.
Also, It must be ok as TV's / DVD Players etc etc have harddrives built into them now dont they...
Anyone know for sure if its safe?? I dont want to fook up a £800 TV

classic televisions use a magnetic field to show the image. put the magnet next to it and it twists the magnetic field and you get the distortion...dunno about erasing data and all....but i'd be more concerned with the heat tho. a tv gets hot. so watch out for the temp on yoru laptop.
jesus christ was a gangsta rapper. they killed him. he came back and made a platinum album.
well its not exactly going ontop of the TV, Our TV Stand had a Slot in it to put things in (Like wires) BUT the Laptop Fits PERFECTLY side ways in it ... So I was going to put the Laptop in their connected by S Video and Audio Cabels for Surround Sound and then have a network cable running through the wall and out at the TV. Then I will buy a Wireless mouse and Keyboard so I can sit on the Big leather chair while surfing the net and playing games etc

It will be fine. Just worry about heat and ventalation. We have startted putting holes with fans attached on our trade show stands which contain systems (most of the time laptops) to ensure the hot air doesnt get trapped inside the cuboards causing the machines to crash or slow down.
