Hey, I just realized that 3 of my 4 USB ports on my notebook don't have the black cap on the inside of the port that is supposed to protect the prongs and stop the machine from shorting. Anyone know where i can buy these.

If you dont know what i mean, its these things:

The little black clip over the 4 prongs. Thanks in advance.

You should try at a local computer store. They must be giving those away like jumpers.

The cap is there to keep you from putting in a USB device the wrong way and shorting it out as well as keep a strong connection by forcing the pins in together.

Ohh... i could do that, but id be willing to pay even 5 bucks for the 3 of em. Its less than what i was expecting when the machine wouldn't turn on because one of the ports I tried to use had one of the pins bend over and make contact with itself. It nearly shorted out the machine. Id really rather not go makeshift with this Smile
