Battlefield Command -> Wartime Command: The Battle for Europe 1939-1945 -> World War II RTS
After three name changes, the game now hangs in the void with no publisher, since codemasters dropped it. It's a shame, it looked very good!
This is the last from codemasters.
<snip>
Dear all Wartime Command fans and community members,
It has been a long and bumpy ride both developing and supporting
this title. As many of you will have noticed, updates and news have
been very scarce so we have come to the decision that we should let
you all know what is going on with this title, and what the future
holds.
There have been some issues during the design and implementation
of the ideas for the game, that both 1C and Codemasters
have wanted. Unfortunately delays to the launch were inevitable,
and it is with great regret that Codemasters have decided to not
proceed with this title
So what does this mean?
Well it means that for now, Codemasters won't be publishing this
game. However, the game is still in development with 1C as WWII
RTS. Whether the game will see another form later down the line is
for 1C to decide, so do please keep an eye on their site for any
updates.
Codemasters are looking into other strategy titles in the meantime
and endeavour to bring some very interesting ideas to the forefront....
more news on that in the upcoming months.
All the pre-orders will be cancelled and an email will be sent to
confirm this. All pending transactions will be cancelled and there
will be no charges.
We will also take down the site and lock down the forum in the
next week or two. Feel free to comment there or in the Codemasters
General Discussion forum.
You can also contact myself via PM or email for any concerns you may
have, all the details are in my signature on the forums.
As a personal comment, I was very much looking forward to what this
game was going to bring to the military gaming world, and the ideas
were always going to tax the latest systems. Many comments from the
Community helped to refine the design ideas and we implemented much
into the design schedule. I would like to thank the Wartime community
in general for their overall support and hope to see them around for
some of our future titles which I'm sure will re-ignite their gaming
and vocal interest.

But the developers site (Russian studio 1C, makers of IL-2 Sturmovik) states a Q4 2005 release, so maybe another publisher is on the way.

There is also a big fan site here. Unfortunaly it's in german
... but even worse, it releases satan.
