Umm, is this for real? With no news and one suggestive screenshot I'd be inclined to believe it's not true. Unless you know differently of course?

PC Gamer did a really small preview on it, and gave the same pic so I guess it's genuine and it's really from the game. Apart from that I didn't hear a single thing.

Looks like any generic low budget shooter now.
Damn it, I want a good Xcom style game! We still haven't seen one yet.

It looks....good enough for me.
At least I hope there will be a multiplayer option, I really missed this in the other releases. Or is there a mod to have multiplayer, anyone?

They should have taken Silent Storm engine, and made Jagged Alliance with it. It's a very good engine, and has some leet graphics and very good physics engine!
Damn, I would really like to see Ivan again, blowing buildings apart.

People, this isn't a first person shooter like some of you immidiatly think. Jacked Alliance 2 was one of the best games. Ever.

And it wouldn't be the first game to be ruined with a sequel nor the first game to be ruined by 3D graphics engine.

From what i have read from the project manager on the american side of sf(same guy who worked on jagged alliance2) in the official and unofficial forums, ja3d has been renamed to 'african alliance' as its setting is, obviously, in a 3rd world country in africa. They(mistland) were talking about making it a realtime game, but the proj manager(cant remember his name at this moment) reassured us that he got back with the team and it will be strictly turnbased. ja3 will be developed down the line and will be completely seperate from aa.
Anyways this is just from the tidbits i have gathered from browsing a few forums, so who knows if its still valid.
And btw, silent storm developers are working to bring a tc(total conversion) mod for SS over to the US called Hammer and Sickle. The development team took the mod and made it into a full fledged standalone title that will be coming out soon. My internet is sucking donkey balls at the moment so i cant lookup more info on it. But it looks as though this will be our only hope of playing a very decent turnbased squad tactical game in the near future, sadly enough.

I got bored of it quickly. I found that the enemy would be difficult to spot and tactics were lacking in the game. Sorry, I tried my best to like it.

The game's gonna be crap because MistLand is making it. If u don't quite remember, Mistland = Paradise Cracked, Cops 2170 and Alfa-Antiterror (in Russia only). All three - crappiest crap ever made. It's a disgrace to russian game development industry. Still the bastards get lucky to chew on some major licenses like JA. 'Hate them.

Should just check their site... http://www.mistland.ru/eng/news.php?show=news&id=5
JA3D, African Alliance, and JA3 are all separate games. I certainly hope they aren't "strictly turn-based" because that would be a huge step backwards, and it's also one of the main reasons that Paradise Cracked was garbage if I remember right.

There some H&S info in the August games thread (too bad the game was just delayed from 8/23 to 11/01 in the US at least ). It sounds more like a sequel to SS--same world, different characters, no panzerkleins, all the other things Sentinel improved upon the original, and even less linearity.
Nival's also working on Night Watch (SS engine game based on the Russian fantasy novel/movie... looks even more interesting to me than H&S since I really liked the movie) and Heroes of Might & Magic V. At least that license didn't fall into the hands of a shitty developer like Mistland, and hopefully Nival can bring the game back to the greatness of HOMM1 and 2.

Forget Jagged Alliance! I just got a copy of Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel (finally!) and I am LOVING it. I worshipped the extremely buggy Fallout 1 & 2 and this is an improvement on the combat system.
Fallout Tactics runs circles around Jagged Alliance 2.

All Fallout games rock, FC:BoS rocks in it's own way but kind of throws away alot of the Fallout charm if you ask me.
By the way: Sniper, Sniper, Sniper, Sniper/Medic/Doctor, Heavy Gunner, Heavy Gunner
That's the best party you can get. You have to use the Mutate! perk a whole lot though (and the actual Sniper-perk is bugged so dont bother with it, just get all the other sniper-related perks)
And on to the topic, give us Jagged Alliance!
