This is a good thing. The Sims is loved by so many people, even people who don't even play games. They don't care about GTA, and might even agree with his bullshit due to their ignorance of it all. But now that he's attacking their game, maybe they will realize that this guy really is just another raving lunatic who is probably just drumming up attention and cheap publicity for some soon-to-be-announced political bid.

This kind of shit is endemic to American political discourse right now, and it's hardly just the Repugs and their lockstep minions...Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, has signed off herself on this absurd little crusade, undoubtedly to placate the same knuckledragging slack-jawed idiot element that blindly supports Bush and his traitorous administration in order to further her '08 presidential aspirations.
More proof that there is virtually no debate left in American political culture...it's essentially all the same right-wing fundamentalist christo-fascism, and the differences between the parties are merely of degree of the same reactionary extremism.

I'd also point out that 60 Minutes did a hatchet job on GTA 3 a while back, and totally misrepresented the game...they characterized the goal of the game as killing cops, and that was the underlying theme of the report. As anyone who's played the series knows, while you can kill all the cops you want it's hardly the goal and there's a penalty for doing it (higher wanted level).
The point being, that it's hard to fight fundie self-righteous posturing, when the info that's being peddled as news is fundamentally flawed and erroneous. And frankly, the U.S. has a long history of violence and a fascination with it, so obviously this take on sexual content is glaringly hypocritical to say the least.

His whole agenda is just stupid. Blaming EA for what modders do to a game is just very ignorant. Basically any game can be modded into a porn-game if you share his view.
