Well PCI-e is the way forward. I'm sure nvidia have their own reasons for this, maybe to secure a large market share before ATI go in with both AGP and PCI. maybe they are just focusing on having the best PCI-e card instead of working 2 routes? Idk but it could be really smart or really dumb depending on you you look at it.

its a little stupid i think !!!
cause if only ati bring new agp cards, nvidia will lose a lot of money !
just some people have pcix and not everyone is updating every month.....

It helps force people into buying PCI-e instead of letting them use old soon to be out of date hardware. They should both stop making AGP immediately and simply force anyone who needs to upgrade into that, would be a more effective way to phase out AGP... right now everyone who I talks to is hesitant to buy PCI-e (because they are retarded.) this would remove that hesitation

they wont do a agp version... simply because they want everyone to buy nf4 with pci express motherboards as then they get more money for the chipsets. maybe if sales drop off lots then they might to bring some money in

think u r right, but if ati bring agp versions from their new chip, nvidia wont get money they will lose a lot of money and they will lose some of their fans and customers...........
from the official page:
Q: Will you use HSI to make AGP-based GeForce 7800 boards?
We are not disclosing plans for AGP at this time, but that is certainly possible with the flexibility of our HSI chip.

PCI Express runs faster than AGP, so reading the memory of a gfx card will be faster etc..
dust.

btw, whoever asked why pci-e... it's faster. doesn't make much of a difference now, but you'll be able to get the faster cards when they come out...
personally i don't care as i don't have the money for anything in the near future
