hi folkz!

i saw a few HDTV movie releases, get my hands on it and i´m pretty amazed. now i would like to buy a few of them. in the next week, i´ll do a short trip to the .us and wanted to take some flicks with me. but my main question is, where can i buy them !? i just crawled through my default dvd onlineshops and none of them seem to sell them.

i´ll be very pleased, if someone could tell me a few shops in the .us where i can buy them.

thank you in advance!

Are you talking about wmv-hd dvd's? You can buy the very few available at amazon for example. However you can't buy hdtv tv shows as hd on dvd, if that's what you are talking about.

as i´ve stated already. there are a few hdtv movie releases out. i don´t know where the sources are from. but there were titles like: the lord of the rings: the two towers/the return of the king, matrix revolution, face/off and stuff like that.

here an example too: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare7/gladiator.htm

there must be a source on dvd anybody could buy if they want to.

don´t know exactly if it´s allowed to post the releasenames here, but these are the releases i´m talking about. they were all dubbed, so the source must be available somewhere.

(Lotr-The Two Towers) Der.Herr.der.Ringe.die.zwei.Tuerme.Special.Extended.Edition.2002.German.AC3.Dubbed.1080i.HDTV-CDD
(LotR-Return of the King) Der.Herr.der.Ringe.die.Rueckkehr.des.Koenigs.2003.German.AC3D.1080i.HDTV-CDD
Matrix.Reloaded.German.DL.2003.1080p.HDTV-DAW
Face.Off.1997.AC3.Dubbed.DL.720p.HDTV.XviD-SATTELiTE
Texas.Chainsaw.Massacre.2003.German.AC3.5.1.Dubbed.iNTERNAL.HDTV-CDD

not all of these releases have sources wich can be bought legally like LOTR for example. Search amazon.com for (wmv)-hd releases, not too many yet. And remember, not every scene release has a source wich can be bought by the public, like the screeners from VCD-Cheetah-TV as one example.

A bit too big with 2mb Sad Also that's just a 'fussy' quality. Watching films of today's quality is more than enough and a slightly crisper image might be great but it wont make me enjoy it anymore.

These movies you talk about are broadcast in High Def via Cable/DirecTV/Dish etc.

People just captured them to their DVR and transferred them over to their computer.
They were then edited etc. and made available.
Yes, they're big ass files.

An average DVD bitrate we'll say is about 6 Mbps.
A High Def broadcast at good quality is at about 17 Mbps.
Depending whether it's 1920x1080i or 1280x720p etc.

There aren't any HD-DVD's/ Blu-Ray DVD's out...as far as I'm concerned.
I'm in the U.S.A. I don't know about Japan, etc. I cannot comment on that.

I know there are WM9 HD-DVD's out. Like the Terminator 2 Extreme Edition.
You can only play those on a computer (from what I know).

You'll have to wait a bit longer until HD-DVDs/Blu-Ray DVDs hit the market.
