Ok, during the last year i skipped downloading a lot of the racing games that got released after i got seriously dissapointed by the arcade crapfest that was NFSU 2. I was hoping they were gonna add all the good stuff from Porsche unleashed, like realistic damage, money, a used car market and advanced non arcadey upgrading. But they didn't, so it sucked. I never downloaded juiced, Flatout, or any of the other racers that got released during the last year, so i was wondering if you guys could tell me if ANY of them were anything like Porsche unleashed/gran turismo/Street legal or just more arcade crap? Because i feel like playing a good racer but i don't want any more "fast and the furious" streetracing arcade bullshit. Thanks.
Gigabyte S-Series GA-G33-DS3R, Intel C2D Quad Q6600 OC @ 3.2Ghz, 4gb Kingston PC8500 1066Mhz DDR2, Geforce 7800GTX (will get a 9800GTX when they are released), 2 x 250Gb HD's and a case with built in paper and lotion dispenser.

Juiced is slightly better in a sense, but shittier in others. It's a naff game overall and it's not realistic by any stretch of the imagination but it's better than NFS in my opinon.
Flatout, I only played the demo of and I uninstalled it soon after. Forgettable as far as I was concerned.

flatout is a really nice racer imo...escpecially in multiplayer.
you'll have to download an additional file called flatoutnet.exe, cause internet play is not really implemented in the game

Flatout = fun & destruction
Juiced = great feeling & time-of-day
who cares, a few years ago i was just like u "oh NOO it gotta be more real than real life or i wont care!!! *whine*"
Then i noticed something, the only thing thats realistic is real life, and when u sit at your computer when you dont drive that particular hour of your life, you want to play a FUN game, it doesnt matter if its realistic or not, as long as you have FUN. You can never have the sensation of driving in a game, so might as well dump the realism obsession and just play to have fun.

Baleur you obviously haven't played Richard Burns Rally for example.
Realism is subjective and the games in question are not trying to simulate anything other than RACING rather than real life as you say. There is a difference, a very significant one.
Besides Juiced is very simple, there is no fun in something so basic in my opinon.
The pursuit of realism in games is for depth and challenge amongst many more factors that help to make it all the more enjoyable as a result. Sure, arcade games can be fun - but so can realistic games.

Didn't feel real to me when I last tried it - does it have japanese writing in the menus and stuff? As for GT4 handling and simulation aspects, well, they are very poor in comparison to the PC simulation scene also.
