Ok, my current GFX card is completely fucked, it has all kinds of graphical corruption in 80% of the games, so it's pretty much useless. So i was thinking of buying a new one. My question is, is it worth buying an AGP card now that they are no longer being made, or should i save my money and buy a brand new PCI express system? If i go for the latter i'd have to pretty much replace everything, including mainboard, GFX card, CPU and RAM since i doubt any of my current stuff will work on the latest mainboards. Or i could save a few hundred € and simply buy a new GFX card and RAM. What do you guys think. Also, is an AMD Athlon CPU running at 2.2 Ghz enough? Will that last well into the future or do i need to upgrade that too?
BTW my current setup is a Geforce FX5950 Ultra 256mb. RAM is 512mb of PC3200, and the CPU is a 2.2ghz Athlon XP.
