Anyone played this ??? I thought i had along time ago.. but i just downloaded it again and started a trial and its like a entire diff game...
Definatly the deepest and most complex mm game out.. and the graphics are amazing when u think about how its a few years old.. far ahead of 99% of mm games..
Anyone played this since the cold war expansion ?? and what do u think ??
By the way.. this game prolly has the best and deepest tutorial of any mm game

Yes, I'm playing it right now. Caldari. The game is great, so many people bashed it when I last mentioned it here on nforce, though.

I remember playing the BETA and thinking it was well presented but I can't really remember much about it funnily enough. The character creation screen was cool as well. But I don't recall much specifics lol.

Best MMORPG ever. I stopped playing a few months back because of real-life business, but as soon as I can I want to jump back into it.

The only way to have fun in this MMO is to act like an asshole, like in every other MMORPG game.
Eve Online should actually get more developer created depth thats deeper than a kiddie pool for me to jump back in, but touting their "loose-moderation" seems to keep their subscribers, so I doubt they will.

Got boring pretty fast, although I enjoyed the character creation too. MMORPG's just don't really appeal to me.

I just tried it out last week. It lasted 4 days of hard grind for me, then got utterly bored.
Don't like the set time skill system.
Credit earning for a combat pilot is limited to 3-4 different mission tpes:
1. go to point a, kill generic pirates
2. go to point a, kill generic uber drones
3. go to point a, blow up generic habitat
4. take object from point a to b.
Through grinding those, i could earn ~3 million a day in my Merlin, but that's it. Very shallow system in my opinion. You would queue up your Caldari Frigate IV Skill (2.5 real time days), and grind away at those mission types over, and over, and over, and over, till your eye's bled.
I'm sure mining/trading was a bit more in depth..but still extremely shallow content wise in the end for an MMO.
Or am I missing something?
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Funny how some people say it's the most shallow system ever and how some (I guess the better part) say it's the deepest MMORPG ever.

It certinaly has some VERY deep parts, but "battle system" isnt one of them. The PVP side of fighting is awsome, but PVE has been very well described above..
1. go to point a, kill generic pirates
2. go to point a, kill generic uber drones
3. go to point a, blow up generic habitat
The game is about economics, politics, interaction with the different races and factions. The game is not about fighting 90% of the time to make money, which was one of the downfalls at the start of the game before you have decent ships to carry and move cargo and a team to help you defend yourself.
Frigg with 1 miner and 1 laser.. MAYBE a drone - not much mining possibility and death if your attacked
Cruss with 4 miners 2 lasers and 5 drones - Enough mining and defence to survive a battle
Battleship - 10 lasers, 2 deep core, 20 drones and some UBER guns - death to everything around you and enough ore to feed a fleet..
Then the trade aspects of the game pull things even further into the mix, one day your trading slaves in between 40 systems.. the next your losing money on slaves and buying in CPU parts.. the next its all about ore and weapons! This is another noobie misstake, the inability to build things.
This led to my own failings in game..

I disagree on your statement that the battle system is shallow. In (fleet) PvP, it's one of the best I've ever seen.

missions are only a fraction of the game, i didn't even try them until i'd been playing well over a year. the main part of the game is interacting with other players.
