Almost two years after the German release a full english version the addon has been released in Hungary and in The Czech Republic...
A iso of this English version is spreading on some p2p-networks, it works with the German 2.6 crack. No scene release yet to my knowledge. I wonder if the groups wil bother... Let's hope! Very Happy

Good news for the true fans out there (if they haven't died waiting Evil or Very Mad )!

No, that would be too easy: you need to restart the game. But the addon offers a lot of new quests that add in very well into the story and the game is more balanced.

Well i'd play it again with the addon. The question is how to get hold of it though.

Will it ever be released in the UK?

Bad decision. Gothic 3 was delayed "until 2006" and that means you will have to wait at least half a year (and probably a lot longer). And you're missing a really great game.

Jowood and Atari were (and still are?) bitching about distribution or something like that.

Actually want to buy this, but run into a minor problem. Can't find a single place that sells the english version of this and ships to Norway, or is it because the release date of this thread is completely wrong and it isn't officially out yet?

Be warned: this add-on has a "special feature" which may be not welcome for everybody. I played the german version and the original "Gothic 2"(which is an excellent game, by the way) has an average grade of difficulty. It starts hard but gets easier with progress because your character gets stronger (as it should be in a role-playing game).

with the add-on installed the difficulty grade starts with "almost impossible" and gets to "extremely difficult" (if you are lucky). in german forums were discussions that this is no longer fun but masochist gameplay.

I played it with some kind of "trainer" with made character progress easier otherwise it would have been too frustrating. And dont forget that you have to start all over again to play the add-on (the "rest" is the same as it was in the original "Gothic 2"). I didnt finish it because it got too boring after you have seen the new areas and missions, if you have beaten the old Gothic 2 already.

This site seems to ship it internationally, haven't tried it though...

For those who have the english iso with the german crack and don't hear the addon-speech:
Go into your \Gothic2\_work\Data\Scripts\Content\Cutscene and rename OU.DAT to OU.BIN and OU.lsc to OU.csl

Ok in Gothic 2, all the things and the quests that didnt lead anywhere or made no sence in the game, with the addon they will make sence, also with the addon gothic 2 is 1/2 to 2/3 longer again.

PS: its also alot harder

Night of the Raven offers huge new areas to explore, a realy big new quest (you can call it a main quest since Xardas tells you about it), a lot of new sidequests, new monsters, enemies and allies.

If you where a fan of the original Gothic 2, then you must get this.

Quote from the Gamershell review:
The level of difficulty makes it a good idea to play the original game first (which is always a good idea anyway), before risking your virtual life in the addon. But by any means don't miss this one.
