My friend used it a bit for downloaded movies, nothing special from that point. But I guess it is easy to set up, you can record stuff and have tivo like functions but the things you record as what I have read locks you them to your PC. mythTV is the key?

I have been using every Edition since the first one and i must say that it really picked up the pace lately. At the first, the MCE was only an additional application like PowerDVD, but it is much more integrated now and looks quite nice. Remember to use a remote control wich supports the MCE to get the full experience and you need a supported TV Card.

Not off hand [sYn] check the forums over at www.thegreenbutton.com.au or www.xpmediacenter.com.au for further advice on that.
I use MCE 2005 with dual digital tuners (DVB-T) and it works great. I schedule programs to record, the machine wakes up and goes to sleep as required to do this. Also I have it setup to regularly download the current program guide which lasts for a week or more.
Overall its great and hopefully will only get better. Im hoping the major "Emerald" update isn't to far away. I heard rumours it was due on 12 August 05 but here we are and nothing yet...
