I haven't heard the official line from the big cheif, but from what I saw happen in #nforce, it appeard to be a DDOS attack. The NFOrce box was alive, but there was no response from the database for several hours. It took out the Webserver, Staff Email and BNC's plus the IRC bots who control the channel.
As the database was not repsonding, I'd imagine the RSS feeds would also have stopped. If your still unable to get your site to pull the RSS feeds then let us know. Things should be back to normal now though.

The DDoS was over 7gbit and over 10.000.000 packets/second. It was a planned attack against our network. It toke us down for transit for about 50minutes. We were never completely down and local lines were still working. This DDoS affected over 500 racks of servers, which are about 15.000 servers. This does not even include the fact that complete uplink providers had router problems aswell, providers that do not ever run within our network, but still received a percentage of the ddos due to rerouting.
Anyways the servers that were being attacked have been removed and will not be placed back again.

New design is nice, but it slows my 3ghz pc down to a crawl for some reason when looking at the sorted nfo's.

what lags? If you have a complaint then at least be specific please. This site has been tested with FF and IE as it was developed (god knows how many headaches IE has given us). The only thing thats known to lag in IE is the Sorted Listing, which is not our fault, its IE's ingenious engine's coding that eats up 100% cpu as it loads the page.
Just as a side note, the page has also been tested in Opera and Netscape and it seemed ok, even the Sorted page was acting normally, unlike in IE.
