About The Swapper

Holder of numerous awards and accolades, the Swapper is an atmospheric puzzle platformer set in the furthest reaches of space. Players wield an experimental device able to clone the user and swap control between them. Dropped into a character and world as mysterious as the workings of the device itself, The Swapper is a game of exploration of a very personal nature.

All of the art in The Swapper is constructed using clay models and other everyday materials.

The Swapper is supported by Indie Fund.

Features

- Challenge: Fiendish puzzles whose solutions are only ever a few steps away
- Isolation: Classic sci-fi atmosphere
- Wonder: A world built out of clay
- Mystery: Narrative design from Tom Jubert, writer behind indie hits Penumbra and FTL

I received it also. If you tried to activate it from the shortcut; don't, it points to bugreporter.exe and not the games proper executable which is theswapper.exe (which worked for me).

Finally a side scroller that sparks my interest. Very Happy

Edit: game is fricking amazing. Smile

I only had to create a new shortcut... for some reason those idiots @ faniso linked to the wrong exe. :\

Didn't have to make any changes other than. Game doesn't seem to work with X360 ctrlr tho. Stupid easy controls and the puzzle concept is fun and original. Smile

Its controls are mostly mouse-based so it's no surprise a X360 controller wouldn't work Wink.

And yeah it's a brilliant game - even though Total Biscuit clearly only played the game for 10 minutes before writing his "review" judging by how the footage was from very early in the game and he got stuck on a puzzle - he'd know the solution if he had played further ahead.

But yeah, great atmosphere, clever puzzles, fun game.

those changes i wrote are for those that DONT USE 1080p RESOLUTION FOR THEY DESKTOP
if you resolution is smaller then this game will crash... so you have to input YOUR DESKTOP RESOLUTION manually

a bad scene rip : wrongly linked shortcut and INI configuration for they own PC they downloaded with

the only good thing is , you can easily fix it

Woah, it is surprisingly fun. The video really looked bleak and boring but damn, the game is pretty neat in action.

Finished the game, very solid gameplay, interesting puzzles. Level design (not related to puzzles) sometimes is confusing, though.

The game is good, has quite solid puzzles based on the 'swapping' mechanic (duh Razz) and the visuals are especially great, with the sci-fi atmospheric backgrounds and sound effects, almost Alien-like. Definitely worth to be tried.

Just beat it. Turned out being quite a surprise. The swap mechanic is a very thought-out touch to the game. I say 'touch', because the real soul of the game is the gritty and outlandish atmosphere (as already mentioned). Grinding and depressing from all sides. This and the mystery behind what had happened kept me going till the end.

Fantastic game! I love puzzle games and this is one of the best I've played in the last few years. The graphics, music and atmosphere were amazing! It was "In space no one can hear you scream" level of desolation. A simple but effective and intriguing story, helped by the shitload of logs and alien samples. Puzzles weren't excessively hard, except maybe a couple of them near the end that got me delaying them till the next day, and one towards half game that forced me to watch the solution on youtube, and after seeing the solution I realized I would have never solved it, at least not by logical thinking Very Happy

Anyway, a serious contender for Indie of the year, though it has a serious competitor in Antichamber Smile

waiting for it to appear on a daily sale since it seems not all updates were cracked.

2 keys would be a decent price for it.

Even the story is interesting in this little indie gem that has been buried by time.
