  • Genre: RTS
  • Release date: 09/2005
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:
EARTH 2160 is the official sequel of the award winning, very popular and top selling EARTH series and continues the brand of Earth 2140 and Earth 2150.

Only a few thousand humans managed to escape from the Earth before its collapse in 2150 A.D. They spent the next few years on the terra forming of the red planet, developing new technologies and building up new civilisations. Somehow each of the three fractions "Eurasian Dynasty", "United Civilised States" and "Lunar Corporation" did this independently and separately from each other - but in the year 2160 something strange happens in this new world. If ED, UCS and LC join forces or continue their old war against each other - is possibly now, up to the player.

Beside the usual venues in the solar system, there are some strange looking locations: planets with moving and reflecting liquid surfaces. And beside the standard RTS - resource acquisition, base building and destruction of enemy bases, the year 2160 will have some adventure inspired tasks for the players.

The game requires activation over the internet to work. Don't know whether it's a STEAM type scenario or not, but there you go.

There's a keygen for the german version - maybe it also works for the english version (if it has the same activation process).

I used the code i got from the german version i bought earlier and sold this one to a friend, np there. So maybe the keygen from paradox works?, haven't tested it myself as i won't take the 'risk' of having my legitimate code banned Wink

Just bought the game, beautiful casing and manual. I almost forgot what it feels like to buy a new game and settle down to read the manual while it installs.

Actually i'm suprised at the small size of the game, only 1 gig, gotta say I was expecting about 2.

Also, there is this weird electronic device in the packaging, which consists of this flashing star and moon which is displayed on the front of the box, through these little holes. Now I guess this is there to attract people to the game when they're browsing the shops, but I bet it cost more to create thousands of these devices, which includes 3 batteries, then they'll ever make back in increased sales because of it. Seems a bit pointless to me, oh well.

Bloodrayne 2 all over again. Earth 2160, see you next week! And what's with the US & Canada release date in November? Thats when AoE3 should be comming out. Do they honestly think they can compete against AoE3???

This game is great. I got the UK version today. Still wouldn't mind an activation fix, as I don't much care for trusted computing.

This is a SCI-FI game, AoE3 is a totally different type of game, its like comparing the Megaman games to the Indiana Jones games.

If this shows up on the NA side of the water in stores before the scene gets around to releasing the UK version of the game, i'm going to be very disappointed in them. Has anyone tried using the activation fix from the other release to see if it bypasses?

16 new multiplayer and skirmish maps, 1 new unit per side and a crappy flashing light thingy on the box.
