The dvd release is 7gb once unrared, you can split it up onto 2 dvd or erase the partial install directory to make it fit onto a dvd (or burn it onto a dual layer if your burner can)

This is not a signature and you're not reading it

The 5 CD version Is not a rip. I have it, and it's working perfectly for me.

The Installer sucks tho. So if you don't like switching CDs, get the DVD one.

yeah there is a CD version as well but i also hate the Trouble of changing/mounting Cd's -- expecially when its 5 or 6 them like UT04. DVD versions are much better-- start the damn setup & it installs on its own ..

Anyways how good is the game ? is it worth that much of download ?? seriously seeking some reviews on that

thx

Well... It depends. I am a fan of the MGS series, so I say it was VERY good (but 3rd was better). Many people say that the game has too much and too long videos - and that you should acctually PLAY the game, not watch it.

But I think it was awsome. Gameplay was great and the videos were absolutley needed to understand the story.

So go for it.

MGS 2 on PC really blows...you need to actually quit the game to remap your keys....and the remaping is really confusing. Get a Xbox or PS2 instead.

Meh, just use a gamepad, problem solved. Seriously, some reason to recommend getting a console.

The game itself works very well on the PC with a PS2 pad. It looks very well in high res and runs as smoothly as the PS2 version. I prefer the DVD version simply because it's very easy to install and there's no need to keep track of so many CD's, however the CD version isn't a rip as far as I know.

As long as you get a gamepad there's no reason you wouldn't enjoy it.

no movies/cut scenes on the cd version if i recall....and if i remember the original DVD version is a DVD9...it was the first game to be introduce on DVD9...so even the the DVD5 release is a rip

::EDIT::

2003-03-24 Metal Gear Solid 2 (C) Konami OUTCAST 102x50 MB = DVD9
2003-03-24 Metal Gear Solid 2 (C) Konami *DVDR* OUTCAST 80x50 MB = DVD5
*note:this is the stripped version that fits on dvd5
u have to do full install in order to play it
half install will not work
if u want the full game get the dvd9 iso we released
earlier today !

And the 5 CD version got even more stuff remove from the DVD5 version

Good Day,

I love MGS series so in terms of the question I can say,

1.- I played and won the 5 CD version MGS 2 Substance, without any trouble. The substance means a set of missions included, independent of the main game, for Solid Snake. This CD version is FULL with all movies and cutscenes.

2.- I agree...You really need a gamepad to play this game. And here I had the only great trouble with the game. I couldnt configure all buttons to my pad and I never knew why. This wasnt a great problem during the game until the final BOSS FIGHT, in which you can do a especial movement with your weapon which make that fight a lot easier. Well, I was never able to asociate a button to this move so that fight was really awful to me, so awful that I saw a walkthrough on the web and learned about the move that I didnt realized I could do. Anyway I have a generic PCTRONIX dual joypad so maybe if you have a pad like Logitech or something like that the problem may never happen to you.

Good Luck...
