There is a trial available of this game @ http://www.fileplanet.com/158404/150000/fileinfo/World-of-Warcraft-Trial-[Full-Client]
and the trial key is available @ http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/worldofwarcraft/trial/wow_na.aspx

The problem that I have is that the game is for North American customers and as I live in the UK I am unable to get the page that displays the key. Would it be possible for a North American to get a key and PM or put on a post please? (nothing illegal and it isnt breaking the forum rules as the key is legal) Thanks in advance.

The World of Warcraft trial is only available to users in North America. There could be a non-North America trial sometime in the future so please visit FilePlanet.com at a later date.

Use anonymous North America's proxy to get the key.
Additionally set Region and Language Settings to USA/English (USA) if it doesnt work.
If still nothing - you probably have bad or blacklisted proxy. Use another one.

You could ask a user to give you a key, we can give out trials too.. not sure if I can give out another but if you PM me your e-mail Ill give it a try.

I find those ip locators that they use to tell what region you are in suck ass. My ISP clearly resolves to a north american ISP yet I always get crap about that.

wtf?? marketting ploy to get more purchases for the holiday season? Or did they experience a sudden userbase drop because everyone realised the game is shit?

Considering the success of WoW, I'd never expect them to release a trial. I mean, everyone who wanted it has surely bought it by now, and those who didn't buy it (me) never wanted it ever.

Trials are usually a sign of dieing MMO's....hell AO has been on life support for years, and that game is practically free now.

don't know how successful this campaign will be for blizzard...I mean 9 out of those 10 days are going to be spent in queues, while the last day the servers will be down for maintenance. Very Happy Laughing

it is not a limited key.. you can get more keys Smile ... but the thing is that you still need a credit card to create your account.. if i had a credit card i would've bought the goddamn game and play it for 14.99$/month

If u want to continue to play after the 14 days expired it may be worth it though.

But then there would be no point of making a 3 gig trial as i assume that 3 gig must be the full game (correct me if i'm wrong).I know that some games you can download and then buy a legit key from the internet so maybe this is one of those.

In any case i could care less because i don't have the time nor the dedication needed to buy and play a game like WOW.Razz

nope. Out of interest I signed up. You need a CC to do so, but they don't charge. However this is the same as a 10-day guest key, and according to the signup, if you want to keep playing they just charge $14/mo to your card. No need to go buy the game. Sweet deal if you ask me. Almost enough to rope me in, heh.

So did I Stooz. But during signup, the page asked for CC (and it also made sure you saw the We Won't Charge you, Yet box at the bottom, heh) and the first paragraph said "your account is set to auto-bill when your trial period runs out to ensure uninterrupted play". Not the exact quote, but there was no indication anywhere that said you had to go buy the game first.

I tried to create an account with the free trail, and they want credit card information even though it a free account. Which is bullshit. Even though they arent going to charge it, for a free trail thats totally unnessary.

durr read the thread, specifically what I posted. They require the CC info so that you can keep playing after the time runs out. You know, they assume you'll love the game soooooooooo much that you won't cancel before the time runs out and WOOPS you just lost 15 bux! Hope you don't live in canada cause that's almost $20!! *gasp*

It's just amazing how much falsy information is in this thread.

#1 WoW is not dieing MMORPG, it's constantly growing one (they open new servers every few weeks, because curent ones are getting crowded fast). 5+ mil userbase now.

#2 As someone mentioned trial is to expand this userbase even more, not because the game is dieing.

#3 You need to enter CC information for trial just to prove your age. CC will NOT be charged even after 10 days is over.

#4 After 10 days is over it asks you to enter CDKEY from game box (which you need to buy obviously), so people who bought the game before DIDN'T waste $50.

thank glottis Smile I never said my info was 100% fact just what I had seen during signup. In fact, created a second key using a second email to read the pages mroe thouroughly:

I still think Blizz should offer a cheaper upgrade option as I now already have the game, and I'm not going to be arsed to go to the store and spend $50 (assuming I'd want to keep playing) and every other MMO I've played has offered an online purchase that doesn't require my to buy CD's.

But I doubt that will happen, so the chances of me buying this game went from 1% to 0% lol
