A demo for Starship Troopers is now available, offering a sample of the upcoming shooter based on the movie based on the Robert A. Heinlein book of the same name. The 450 MB download debuted on GameSpot DLX (registration required), and mirrors are now also available on 3D Gamers, eXtreme-Players.de (Germany), Filerush (torrent), Gameguru Mania, VGPro, and Worthplaying. Want to know more? Word from the read me is: "You play the role of an elite Marauder - the Special Forces of the Mobile Infantry. As High Command's precision strike tool it's your duty to spearhead the campaign against the arachnid menace. Whenever 'the going gets tough' Marauders are expected to lead the way!"

demo wasnt really anything. if the rest of this game is like this it will just be another bad fps... but with coop the game can probably get some what fun.. guess its just wait and see.

just played the demo and i hed loads of sound bugs
at least the game runs great (maxd sets)

Let's hope they include coop. The Alien vs Predator-games were pretty nice but what totally rocked with them was the ability to play as coop marines protecting some installation from a fuckload of aliens. That rawked

well... after this demo i dunno exactly what to think. Good atmosphere, musics and the movie clips give the game that "movie feeling"... gfx isn't that stunning, but bugs shaders are realy impressive.
weapons look like toys, shame they haven't used the exact sound they had in the movie, but killing bugs is pretty fun, at least at the beginning, and when u see a hundred of those things coming for u it's just... wow.
not a bad game at all, but it may be a little ripetitive. guess we can't determine how much this game is good just from this demo, but atm is in the little space between being a great fps or just average.
coop could really save the day here.

lol what da hell is going on game work at all persons but at me it don't run
i have an amd athlon 1800+ 512ddrram geforce fx5600xe 256mb and graphics driver installed version 71,80 not the neweest but i think it must works

Starship Troopers the movie was utter and total poop. Read the book instead by Robert A Heinlein.
Paul Verhoeven has only made one good movie in his life and it was Robocop (ignore all the bad sequels that tainted the beauty of the original). I honestly do believe that Robocop was just a fluke with him since he has never made another good movie (Show Girls anyone? lol). Sometimes a director gets lucky.
As for the game if they designed it like the crappy movie it will be absolutely no fun to play. Oh look, I am on level 2 now and I will get attacked by a wave of 250 spiders aliens instead of a 225 like on level 1. How exciting.

Empire Interactive? starship troopers? they dont know how to make FPS, they should stick with their kinda games like Ghost Master and so on. This doesnt impress me much, the retail game should be swarming with coding bugs and sound glitches. The movie was good tho.

Great demo.
Runs very smooth here except when there are alot of bugs on screen like in the begining.
I always get killed by the horde that comes when you have found the mines and power generator.
How the hell are you suppose to kill all those ??
It is impossible even on Easy.

near the second battery u pcick up there's the big shotgun. 1 shot 1 kill with that weapon
