GT4 is pretty awesome , but from a console stand point I would get an xbox, XBMC alone is worth the purchase. Does FORZA have the Nürburgring ring?

yea it does , read this review on FORZA mate
And in comparing Forza’s Nurburgring versus Gran Turismo’s, I noticed that Forza’s had far less trees blocking the landscape as the Xbox can draw the horizon farther out than the PlayStation 2 can. Nurburgring also sports more detail on the Xbox than its PS2 brethren – there’s a lot more graffiti written on the road in Forza, and thus more accurately reflects the real “Ring”.

I didn't even know about this game, yes it does have the Nordschleife, and some interesting cars. Xbox indeed seems to be the better choice.
another thing: Can you run the XBMC on an unmodded Xbox? Not sure about that

not it has to be modded (either a mod chip or a software mod)
You really have to look at what system has the games you want and decide

I would always go for an xbox myself, as I have owned all 3 and the xobx is the only one that gets rugular use.
But as I said, it really comes down to what has the games you want.

You're a bit on a latecomer, but if i were to buy one at this late stage, it would be an xbox. I also owned all 3 and the gamecube went after 5 days, the ps2 after a couple of months, and I've had my xbox since the week of UK release about 3-4 years ago.

XBMC and XDSL is all you need for Xbox.
If you hate it, ignore it.
