I am burning region 2 DVDs converting them to region 0 with DVD Shrink. The DVDs will play on my PC but not on my stand alone DVD player because the DVDs are in PAL format. Is there a way to convert a DVD from PAL to NTSC before burning? Thanks in advance.

if you want something simple first DL ifoedit. You have to rip the dvd to your HD in file mode. After that open ifoedit and find the folder with the dvd. You will have to open every ifo and find all of the references to PAL. Dbl click on those references and you will see the option to change it to NTSC. After you've changed every reference save the ifo and agree to overwrite the old one. If you miss one reference it will not work. You can use ifoedit to make a backup of your ifos before trying this. Before burning close ifoedit and then open the ifos again just to make sure you didn't miss anything. There are different ways to do but it involves re-encoding, this does not change the frame rate but it gets the job done. The only bad thing is if you watch movies on your cpu, it throws your menus off, meaning in order to activate a button with your cursor it will be slightly off.

That hack doesn't work in most dvd players ... but it is the easiest way BY FAR to get them to play in a NTSC dvd player so do try it first.

Or you could save yourself the trouble and buy a cheap mult-region/multi-format dvd player for $50 and save yourself the headache. Very Happy

Nero 7 can automatically convert to NTSC if you choose NTSC as the format during Nero's install.
