I've downloaded and installed it...looks crazy, gunna be fun Smile

I kinda got tripped out cause when u install the game and then put the mod over it, it defaults to tutorial and screws the game
found this on the site and works, I dunno if anyone else had this happen or may have it happen so i thought it would be a good idea to post this

Quote:
This is one of the most common problems experienced with Rome: Total Realism and is also the easiest to fix. Whats happening is, the game is detecting that it is your first time running the game and thus defaults to Prologue mode. In order to unlock the other game options and 'trick' your game into working follow these simple steps:

Browse to C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War or your Rome: Total War installation directory.
Open preferences.txt - it should automatically open with NotePad but if it does not right click on it and select "open with" and then once prompted, select NotePad from the list of avalible applications.
Scroll down to line 58 where it reads FIRST_TIME_PLAY:TRUE and change it to FIRST_TIME_PLAY:FALSE . Save the file.
Play Rome: Total Realism. Remember to select "Provincial Campaign."

lol how was that fast? ok whatever lol..
i agree (hey i just woke up, im as fast as him HONEST!! *attempting to care*) with cartoon, its nothing special, partly since the demo is ONLY battles, but anyway the combat remains the same from what i can see, and the units.. well why not just download a skin-mod instead of paying money for some?
Sure they use torches, it looks okay, good even sometimes, and the dusky time of days in a battle looks good, but not good enugh to be worth money.
I love the scene.

I don't like the western roman empire. They look too.... well... barbaric... they kinda lost what they had. They were special in RTW, now they look like they mixed with the guals or some shit.

RTR is surely one of the best mod ever !
RTW 1.2 looks like über shit in comparison of RTR 6.0 ^_^
And this one is for sure as unhistorical as RTW :s

Well, I'm a big fan of the Total War games and will buy the next one for sure, just for the simple fact that total war games have the best replay value, imo.
I dont mind supporting the guys that make such a sick game ya know?
And the detail and great gameplay, worth supporting to me.

In the original RTW, I played all three houses but I enjoyed Bruti the most (green guys)
in RTR, I havent played it through, playing it for the first time currently, but Im playing as the greeks right now - Want to do like a troy thing when I go attack desert countries Smile The HUGE armies are fuckin crazy when u have like 600 spearman guys like in troy...crazy battles, surpasses RTW
Yesterday I had a battle, my army had like 1400 guys or somethign like that...WICKED! lol
But I'll end up playing through all the new factions
Thats the thing that pissed me off with the orig RTW, u could only play as roman...and I dont think to highly of the roman empire lol

No you can play any civilization you conquer. The other factions are not as deep as rome but definitley playable.

Hopefully the new total war will have that option as well
play as any faction rather than just Roman or whatever the game is centered around
