Ok, I'm curious, how many of u guys actually go to see movies in the theatre? And Im not talking about when u take a girl, like with the buddies or whatever.

To be honest, I wont go see a movie in a theatre if its longer than 90 minutes.
One, the chairs are fuckin uncomfortable (even in the 'high tech' cinemas), the food cost's way to fuckin much...like really 7 bucks for a medium popcorn and medium coke?
And, the number one reason, I cant fuckin smoke....i personally think they should have smoking theatres and non smoking theatres, like resturants and bars...
For example, when i went to see LOTR:RoTK, I missed a good half hour of the movie cuz i need to go outside and have a smoke...I know, the easiest answer is dont smoke, but anyone who does smoke or did smoke, knows thats bullshit...

Like i said, they should have non smoking theatres and smoking theatres...that way u can have the choice.

Im not a fan of cinemas SycoShaman, I would be the first to admit that the best way to experience films is on the large screen but I just prefer the comforts of my home. Being able to tell someone that is persistently coughing or getting up and walking in front of your shot of the screen to get the fuck out of your house is one of the fringe benefits as is being able to pause the action mid movie to get a drink that doesn't cost £4 and is half filled with ice/water.

The times I tend to use the cinema now are whenever a classic movie is reshown in my area "Taxi Driver" for example was reshown a while back and I really wanted to see it on the large screen. Theres been other screenings in the past in my area that appealed to me "Alien" for example that I had no problems coughing up cash at the cinema to see. Smile

Ur so right about the comforts of home....free (well, cheaper) food, drinks, and I can pause the movie...thats the biggest thing I'd say. Like I got my dvr so i could pause tv shows when i need to take a piss or something...why go pay megabucks for shitty food and an experience that lacks all the comforts of home?
I think they need to re-evalute the theatre experience or in the next decade, there gunna be outta business...

Funny too, i read an article about some dvd the theatre ppl are trying to develop. Say a new movie comes out, say Terminator 4, u can go to theatre and pick up a dvd of the movie, for like $2 more than a ticket and watch it at home...but after u watch it once it self destructs - a chemical reaction takes place on the disc that causes it to be ruined...or they were thinking of one with like a time delay...so i go get the movie, pay say 15 bucks but it works for 48 hours and I can watch it as many times as I want....
I think they should do that cuz I really do hate the theatre...and its not like fucking or gettin head in the theatres is easy anymore...least in my area. When i was in highschool, that was like the main reason for going to theatre...couldnt fuck at home, couldnt fuck at the girls house, so we'd go fuck in the theatre lol

It was something i read recently, in the last 2 months, on Yahoo news...they were discussing all the new types of dvd's that are being developed and the one i mentioned above was being pushed by the MPAA

Same here, 20-25 times a year or so. Despite how good your home theatre system is, it can't beat the experience at a theatre. It wasn't a self destructing disc, what it is, is basically a disk that is coated in an oxidizing material that when exposed to air, appx 48 hours later the disk becomes unreadable.
