Dragonshard™ is a real-time strategy experience based in the mystical world of Eberron, the acclaimed new DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® realm. Within this wholly imaginative setting lives an inventive gameplay fusion: dramatic RTS play is affected by the risks and rewards of a thrilling RPG-styled underworld.

As players direct troops over the land, they also plunge smaller, hero-led parties below ground to an RPG-modeled world of beasts, battles and bounty. Experience and items gained in this underworld result in great powers and abilities above ground.

Using magic, weaponry and skilled maneuvers, players command armies from varying races to control, protect – or destroy – the powerful Heart of Siberys. Obtaining this omnipotent artifact will unleash its full forces, good or evil, upon the entire world.

So, on a scale from 1 - 10, how similar is this to Warcraft III?

I know a lot of people like WC3, but I never did, so if someone would please tell me - so that I can either avoid or try it.

Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Are u kidding me only 3 races? I tought this game would have like 7 or something, meh, already seen all then in the beta. BUT its a fun game, odd but fun, sieging and destroying cities kinda suck, boooring, but the rpg aspect is really cool. *a thumb up*

btw the guys getting bsod, properly because they have a creative card, it's a fault in the drivers. Use KX audio drivers instead newest version is the one ending in 37. there no more bsod.

There is no way I'd change drivers just for an average game like this.

Anyway, I BSOD'd, but the time I did play of it was average.

I can't even play the game for a few minutes, or it'll crash to my desktop. I also have a Creative soundcard, but I'm not going to install 3rd party drivers just for a game to work properly. I'll just wait for yet another patch.

I just tried the tutorials : some of them are quiet buggy (if u don't do at the exact time one action, it forgets that u've done it and you're stuck) but they help to understand the mechanism of the game.

I'm going through the first mission and i can say i'm enjoying this game. It's not like gathering ressources during several hours before creating a huge army with the best creatures. Here, you control less units with the feeling that you REALLY control them.

i'll see with the next missions if i follow up or not but up to now, i recommend it Wink

Ive used the KX drivers. I like the options the officials have, and I get better compatibility with most of the other games I've been playing.

Tutorials were a little boring, I almost fell asleep. But first mission woke me stright up! Really good battles, with a lot of effects, and even some good humor with Kael(?) the rogue guy.

Just read the Gamespot review :3 races and only 2 campaigns of 7 missions Crying or Very sad

It won't surprise me that Atari puts pressure on Liquid Entertainement to release this game too early...(u remember Boiling Point ?).

Yes, but those missions are rather long, with lots of quests, sub-quests and stuff to explore. Gameplay is rather new, not renolutionary but fine combining of previously seen elements, with some extra stuff

No its not
Hyperterrain = omg, units walking in snow and realistically trampling it down forming trails omfg Very Happy finally something "new" in RTS games not just the same old sharper textures and more polygons.

Thanks for these infos, I almost missed this one. It sounds very promising, Warcraft 3 wasnt exactly my taste due to these "comic"-like graphics, but I absolutely loved the SpellForce series. I hope this game is like SpellForce.

well, time to grab the stuff Very Happy hope it can be mounted
