there wont be any cracked releases off norton anymore

Cause the option with phone activation is no more.

So you need a unique key to activate the shit

Try Kaspersky. Very good, catches many things that Norton doesn't and you can set it to update every hour if you want to be always up to date. Use the personal, not the pro version because you have to manually install the updates. If you want to stick with Norton, try symantec corporate 10

Since the "phone activation" is history...

- What about a patch for the exe?
- A registery hack?

I dont belive that it is uncrackable.

Why don't you pick and choose from a number of superior programs instead of installing crashy and bloated software, which only redeeming feature is that the horrible interface is consistent between the programs? Most of what Symantec is selling is a bunch of snakeoil as far as I'm concerned.

I can recommend one or more of the following (in order of preference):

Anti-Virus:
NOD32, AVG, that other free program that I can't remember at the moment

Defragmentation:
Raxco Perfect Disk, O&O or Diskeeper (if the latter's CoS affiliation doesn't turn you off).

Firewall:
Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5, Outpost Firewall, Windows Firewall ... ZoneAlarm (if you can stomach the horrible orange interface and its tendency to randomly fuck up your connection)

HD ghosting:
Acronis True Image

Misc. tools:
Lavalys Everest, Spybot, AdAdware, etc.

Okay, feel free to use inferior software if that's your thing. Sorry for wasting your time with a writeup of software that works better than what you use now.

the problem is the liveupdate , so if there is a patch or something...
The liveupdate will modify the software so the patch will be destroyed

Why would they force ppl for internet activation? I know it's rare but there must be people out there who don't have internet and would like to use systemworks 2006. Personally, I only use systems works for WinDoctor... is there any other software to replace that?

Found this:

All I can say, heheheheehehehe!!! I also like the comment about not enough "high profile" viruses. How easy is it for an antivirus co. to create a virus, unleash it and then sell the tools to protect the hysterical masses?

I'm not sure where this crap about forced internet activation for Norton 2006 products got started, but it isn't true. There is still a phone activation option, it just hasn't been keygen'd yet. So many of you morons are propagating rumors without knowing what the hell you're talking about. Hackers finally met their match? Not likely.
