I have Visual Studio Net 2003 Enterprise Architect Proper TBE. During the installation from the first cd (i had previously installed the prerequisites), i get this error message "Error 1308. Source file not found e:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Stuio...... Verify that the file exists and you can access it." The starnge is that windows has assigned the letter C to my hard disk and not E as the installation states. Eis assigned to the DVD-ROM from which i was installing the program. This message appears for several files, even if i press "ignore". Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

I had a problem like that when I had downloaded some release of VS.NET 2003.
The release group hadn't created the ISO properly using the correct MS tools and therefore a few files did not got added. Why? Because they had a too long path and filename combined to follow the ISO standard.

But with cdimage one can create ISO's with longer filenames that will still work in windows.
It should only be example files that gets missing, even Visual Basic example files if I do not remember wrong.

The release you had was from TBE or RORISO?

I have the TBE release. It works just fine. I think that the RORISO release is not Enterprise Architect but "only" professional!

If you also have the TBE release and get that problem I would recommend getting it again.
Heck I would even recommend doing like this:

Get the TBE release
get latest MSDN Libraries (July 2005)
make a DVD out of it.

The previous release I had with that problem got fixed by extracting the ISO, edit the MSI file to point to renamed example files with shorter names (only 4-5 letters) and then rebuild it.
Since I got the TBE release and the latest MSDN I simply made a complete DVD out of the whole set... If you would like to make a DVD with the complete package on it say so and I will write a guide into a txt doc and upload it somewhere. Very Happy

I will try to download again the first cd. Do i need to make any special settings in Nero in order to burn the image correctly with all the files included? If you can, please upload the instructions for making the DVD. I have no idea on how to edit the MSI file. Thanks Laughing

Never tried burning the TBE iso's directly but the DVD version works fine though... I mounted the TBE iso's and they worked fine. When burning images in Nero I do not think you have to set anything special.

here is my guide for converting it into DVD with MSDN, prereq. disc and everything. Also the serial autoadded during installation.

To mods:
I hope the above link is not breaking any rules.
It contains no warez, illegal apps, serials or links to where to get illegal material.
Feel free to read it and if you find it *bad* feel free to remove.

Hope that helps... Smile
