Is this just an addon or a standalone?

It's a module so you need NWN (and probably Hordes of the Underdark expansion, as states the nfo you should have read Cool hehe).

Does it require a new save or can I still play and enjoy the new features on my old save?

Its about time one of these got released.

Its a bioware premium module, you had to be connected to the net while playing to run the game so it wasnt possible to get around that unless you take the time to crack it. I guess since it went retail they had to do away with that, and in turn their only good form of protection.

I hope we see the pirate one as well as some of the others, I personally think Bioware charges too much for these things, I would pay 3-5 bucks but not the 7-15 they ask.

Workaround to get this module to work without connecting to bioware.

Put up your firewall, remove the NWN.exe entries from the allowed list .. let the game try to connect .. write down the server that NWN is trying to connect to, quit NWN

write now in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
127.0.0.1 nwmaster.bioware.com

hehe, hey, I still had it in there.

anyway, restart NWN, let the server connection timeout, and youre done

This is great. I haven't played NWN for so long, its about time I reinstalled the orignal, and xpacks, and now these official modules. Such a warm, fuzzy feeling Very Happy

How long do these take to play through, any idea?

http://www.gamebanshee.com/reviews/software/kingmaker1.php - 8.0
http://www.gamebanshee.com/reviews/software/shadowguard.php - 6.8
http://www.gamebanshee.com/reviews/software/witchswake.php - 7.6

Review says 2-4 hours on Shadowguard (and that it's really weak), 2-3 hours on Witch's Wake (and it's only like the first chapter of a much larger story that really leaves you hanging when it ends), and 7-8 hours on Kingmaker. Witch's Wake sounds like it would be the most interesting since they compare it to Planescape: Torment, but who knows if/when the story will ever be finished.
