@Steve-O
Remember though that you ned firmware 2.0 to run it.. So you need to upgrade/downgrade to use homebrew again :/

Hi all. long time lurkier, first time poster. I had a small question to which i can't find any answer yet so i was hoping someone here could fill me in. I'm planning on buying GTA:LCS but my psp has firmware 1.5 but shows 2.0 thanks to WAB version changer.
Will it work like this or do i really need to upgrade to 2.0?
thx

i *think* ( like 95% sure) you need to actually update. i dont think the wab changer works, ull need to update, play, then use the downgrader to go back to 1.5.

in that case i think i'll just skip this game. i had problems playing my original burnout after downgrading to 1.5 (it requested version 1.52) but it worked fine once i used the version changer. so i was wondering if that would be the case with gta aswell. too bad then

after sony's little stunt with piracy proofing gta, ive decided i wont spend another cent on games. i WAS planning on buying this, but if they are going to lock off the use of my other isos, then screw em. id rather download the crap games, and buy the good ones, as long as i could still play my iso's... but if sony insists i choose between buying the 1 or 2 good games A YEAR that come out, or the other 30 odd games that are fun, but not great and worth the cash... pff, ill stick with the iso's, thanx sony... but as it stands, someone will eventually crack gta, so alls good in the end. ill still get to play gta, but sony will lose out for being such greedy prats.

The game does not have a region lock.,
But i know why the umd loaders, version changers etc is not working
This game is the first game to actually require one of the features that was added by the 2.0 update
hence if the psp doesnt have the feature it needs it wont work no matter what you try
as the version changers only tricked games into thinking the psp is at the version it needs... it doesnt provide the features the game may actually require.
oh and its quite possible more games will follow suit..
opretty soon you may not have a choice to upgrade especially if you want to be able to play any new psp game..
Fortunatly there is a eboot loader for 2.0 that works for most homebrew apps so some of you could choose to permanently upgrade to 2.0 if you dont care for the homebrew that the bootloader does not support yet
