It was just released on my site, getting it now. Info hasn't been posted here yet but I can give you the summary, the ripping notes were that the music was downsampled, thats it.

At first i kinda get a wtf-feeling when games are released with some star as the main selling-point. But then i think about def jam and realize it might just be good. Let us know what you think of it when you've played it a bit. Mini-review! Smile

Anyone with a mini review?
I wonder how this game is compared to True Crime NYC ( Which is a good game IMO)...

Been playing for a bit, kind of got a "been there done that" kind of generic action feel to it. Borrows alot from the Dead To Rights games, only thing missing is the slow-mo. The graphics are okay, kind of jaggy, that is with it in 480p mode. And if you can't stand 50 cents music or voice then this isn't the game for you, it seems the games entire background music is just 50 song instrumentals. The controls, well I am not to fond of them, the sensetivity is really high so it is hard to aim, it wouldn't be bad with a keyboard but it is hard to percision shoot with a game pad and the controls don't help to much. So far I have no idea what is going on the the game, just a lot of shooting random swat dressed bad guys. There is some kind of team mechanics in the first few levels I have played, but you can't really command you "G-Unit" to do anything other then what they are supposed to, Lloyd Banks picks locks and Yayo plants bombs. You can only really interect with them when the game allows it.
Overall, it seems okay, but you have to be able to put up with a lot of 50 one-liners and some crap dialog from guys who arn't ment to act. But I still think most people who played any other 3rd person shooting games, and especially Dead to Rights, will have a strong feeling of de-ja-vu

Still no signs of the DVD5 or DVD9 versions on my source! Crying or Very sad

All I can find is 50.Cent.Bulletproof.DVDRiP.XBOX-JEDi which is a 748mb DVD rip!

I mean what the hell is the point!?

Also the game contains locked items(music videos and soundtracks from his recent and past albums) that you would have to unlock during game play. Overall to me the game is like any other 3rd person shooting games but with added little new option features.

I grabbed that rip headshot apparently all thats missing is some of the music and videos the core game is still there - so its good if nothing else for shoving on a multi disc and for the size it makes a good tool to gauge whether or not the DVD5 wiill be worth downloading. Haven't tryed it yet doesn't really look like my type of game.

Played this for an hour or so just then, overall I think the most obviously bad thing about it as Bob-Saget pointed out is the controls and the lack of an true auto aim - the enemies jump about all over the place so actually picking them off is alot more difficult than it should be.

Gameplay seems pretty standard third person shooter stuff running around levels offing some guys that look like police or swat with your G-Unit in tow most of the levels are fairly short just a case of shooting your way through them and either flicking a switch to open a door, raise a lift or some other generic objective. One thing I did like were some of the moves you can take peoople hostage and shout obscenities at them then execute them plus you can use dumpsters as shields basically getting behind them and using one hand to steer them and the other hand to hold your gun its a nice touch.

What I would say is grab the rip and try it if your unsure of what the games gonna be like before grabbing the DVD5, im not entirely sure if it would be worth the bandwidth the game seems really limited to me plus the controls are a niggly problem.

Also avoid if your easily offended. Within the first 10 mins 50 cent and the G-Unit will have used the Nigga word at least 50 times - everything in the game gets called a Nigga by them even the white people.

Just tryed Aeon Flux then as well - very nice game, reminded me a little of Stolen.

That sounds good to me. I hate it how most developers seem to think console gamers are too dumb for true aiming and put auto-aim in almost all games. Consoles have dual analog sticks since several years so give us true aiming ffs!

I know what you mean Weedo in theory it sounds good but seriously try it and you'll see what we both meant. Theres something slightly twitchy/jumpy about the aiming it just doesn't feel right plus the enemies move about really eratically making it hard to hit em which in combination with the above just doesn't work so well.

Yeah though there are plenty of games that don't have auto aim and it works well in this though im not so sure.

edit......I grabbed the DVD5 of this just to see what I was missing, its easy to see why the game overspilled to a DVD9 the game is stacked with high qual videos/songs half of which have to be unlocked. I presume that there only samplings of the songs I mean it would be madness to give away half your back catalogue with a game?

Anyway based on the DVD5 I would say the games alright. I don't really like stuff like Dead to Rights (I think its garbage infact) but blasting your way through the levels with P.I.M.P. blaring out, even with the repetitive design and generic objectives is kind of fun. I see myself getting bored with it in the long term but its a decent blaster for a couple of hours and some of the banter is amusing.

If you mean 700 meg rip then yes pretty much if not all of the multimedia content is gone not even downsampled, the videos are missing so you have no idea of the actual story plus you can't bring up your little mp3 player thingy in game and select tracks from his albums to listen to whilst playing through the game.

In the DVD5 everything is there just the music is downsampled as far as I know certainly looked the case when I tryed it plus the music or whatever audio was downsampled is downsampled to the point where it isn't even noticable.

Again though I would say the 700 meg rip is good for gaugeing whether or not your gonna like this game, I still see people on other sites commenting on the controls being a little iffy.

I just took a look at the 700+ DVD rip in Xbox explorer just out of interest.

As you said the mp3 tracks appear to be there which is a real bonus I never tested them when I first played the rip of the game but what you'll find with the videos is they are either 540kb-1,324kb junk files to trick the game into thinking that the movie has been played or that they've relinked the movies to that same dolby digital video plus if you check in the Videos/Ads/CS/Movie folder you'll see all the movies range in size from 540kb to 1,324kb. If you look in the DVD5 folder called "Videos" that folder alone weighs in at 1.3 gigs compared to the rips 10 or so megabytes.

A good example is at the start on the DVD5 and DVD9 you get a huge very high quality video, almost a rap video with 50 cent showing scenes from the game which goes on for bloody ages then immediately after you start a new game you get a intro movie setting the scene for the game and obviously telling a story. With the rip when you start it you get that Dolby Digital video coming up christ knows how many times instead of the videos that I mentioned above.

For what it is though its decent enough as a rip, what did you think of the game btw? Smile

yeah, there is music, but the videos are missing... i've only played it for like 5 minutes... so i can't really say if it's good or not... also, i've downloaded this version because i have limited bandwidth, and i can't download a lot for week or two, so if the game seems ok, i'll download the dvd5 version for sure !

Check this out:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6140323.html

I have lost what respect I had for the man. To anyone who loves games this is one of the stupidest and maybe potentially hurtful things, for the gaming industry, to be said in a long time. Now all we need is a senator taking this and showing clips of 50's disarming moves in the game and saying how he thinks this should be a life lesson game. My god, how thick is this guy? He really thinks this game is okay for kids? This just goes to show that he does not care for the game at all but only lent his image and name to make money, he doesn't care for his fans when he makes statements like that. This guy has lost all touch with reality and is driven by nothing buy money. I just hope this is not more fuel for the media/goverment to put a stop to games with violence in them. Cause this moron he may have hurt the gaming industry for the responsible people in the world.

Yes 50 Cent is hardly a suitable role-model for young children. His idea of parents buying this for their kids to educamate them borders on the insane ;-P

Those types of storys really irritate me, to be honest they annoy me even more than someone like 50 Cent making a flippant remark like that in the first place.

If theres a full transcript of the interview and 50 Cent is saying something along the lines of "yeah git this shit for yo kids, it'll teach em to shoot dodge and bust a cap in some mofos asses" then yes the guys off his head. Clearly the game isn't meant for kids as I pointed out above the language alone makes it unsuitable.

Playing Devils advocate though unless someone shows me otherwise when he says "life lessons" I presume he means explain to your kids if you are gonna let them play this game that the route 50 Cent goes down in the game is only gonna lead to alot of trouble and/or there eventual death.

Maybe im just giving the guy a bit too much credit though, not a 50 cent fanboy btw just in case anyone thinks im saying that because I like the guy.

Quote:
The rapper, who has a 9-year-old son, defended violent video games as entertainment. "I think everyone knows that a game is a game. There's the part where you actually press start on the controller--after that you are playing a game."

The culture is rife with violence, in movies and in music, he said. "The person that's influenced by a video game can be influenced by anything," he said.

"If we have to take away video games, then we have to think about other things," he said. "And then we have no entertainment because we might influence somebody who's crazy."

I honestly don't see whats wrong with any of the above statement, hes questioning censorship more than anything Confused
