|
 |
You want to play the game as in old times, copy and paste exe?
Just take the crack to "BIA: Road To Hill 30", rename it to EiB.exe (you can also leave the original BIA.exe name), overwrite, and BIA 2 works like a charm. F*CK STARFORCE AND UBISOFT! Man, this is a HUGE HUGE MISTAKE! Still worse than what Microids did with "Still Life" and with its demo unprotected files. I didn't expect such carelessness from UbiSoft, especially considering the importance of the game and the efforts to make it impossible to crack.
For the ones among you who like things done good, I've changed the icon of the exe to look like the one from BIA 2 and uploaded the crack to GCW. You can download it from there as soon as it's put online.

Man, if this is true, then I'll laugh my a** off. I mean...how can this be possible? Hope it's true, 'cause if it is, Ubisoft will be a fool, god damn slackers not modifing the .exe. Man! this month turnes to be a good one, first SFCure, now this and maybe Daemon4 at the end. God damn publishers will remember this one.

Maverick
Can u do me a favour and explain to me how it works? U seem like u know what ur talking about and either know how it works and or may know someone who could give me a brief description.
Because, im still blown away by this.
I was sittin there, fuckin with clone for hours, trying different combo's of sfcure, sfn,cd release, dvd release, assorted keys etc and I was gettin fuckin mad cuz i wanted to try this before i bought it - i was kinda disappointed with the lack of replay value on BIA:RH30 and it wasnt worth the 60 bucks i paid for. anyway I checked the forum for a solution and what did I find nice
Anyway yeah, this type of shit interests me cuz I dont see how the bia crack works on a different version. And it gives me some ideas so extra knowledge would be very appreciated

OK, let's put it this way. It's as if you owned two villas with the same lock. One key opens both of them. Gearbox started programming BIA 2 shortly after the original BIA was released. So the programmers were the same, the original code was the same. If you take a look at BIA 2, you'll notice that it's pretty similar to the original. They just added some new maps, some graphical improvements, and maybe new AI routines. But the skeleton has remained essentially the same. So, the original code of the exe pointed to some specific references inside the programming code that have remained identical in BIA 2, hence the code is quite the same.
So, BIA 2 could essentially be defined as the original BIA with some fixes, both graphical and AI, and a bunch of new maps. An add-on, maybe, more than a real sequel. What's yet to be tested is whether this crack will work from the start to the end of the game. If people at Gearbox were totally lazy, it will do. Otherwise, if they did add some new lines of code or diffent calls in it, the crack is going to crash somewhere in the game. If so, DT4 will help.
So, until it's tested thoroughly and confirmed 100% working, I can't say whether the two exes are the same or not. For sure they are pretty similar, and it's a very stupid move by UbiSoft. So, for now, I suggest keeping the original DVD clone on HD. In case of problems, DT4 will help. But you have to have the original clone of the game. Hope it clears things up a little.

That is total bullsihit. The only way this is possible is that the exe only launches some dll files which actually contain the game code. These dll files have exactly same names as in BIA1 and the game works. There is no way that this exe would work otherwise, everybody with basic programming skills know that.

I quoted above what you said.
Here's what I said:

Specific References = Dll Files
Remained Identical In BIA 2 = Same name

No mate this is what you said:

But as said, enough about this and apologies if I missunderstood what you were trying to say (references pointing to external sources would have been a correct way to say this, but if that was what you tried to say then our thoughts were same). After reading some peoples post how this exe can be a brekthroug in starforce3 cracking and similar shaisse, I felt so angry and I unfairly targeted my anger towards your post.

No problem, man. A little misunderstanding can happen.
Why do you get angry anyway? I just took a laugh when I read people's posts saying that it's a step forward in the StarForce war or asking if this method could be applied to other games.
I say and repeat out loud: THIS IS A HUGE MISTAKE BY GEARBOX/UBISOFT, not StarForce!
They did their job pretty well (look what one should have done to start the game), but people at Gearbox were so lazy and dumb not to change anything in the calls inside exe, not even dll names.
My votes about this matter:
UBISOFT/GEARBOX = 0
STARFORCE = 10
GUY WHO DISCOVERED THE TRICK = 10
SCENE = N/A (no actual step forward or improvement)
