I have an AMD Semprom 3000+ at 2.1 Ghz
a MSI Geforce 6600
2 Gb DDR
500 Gb HD
Nvidia's most updated drivers
and I keep on having the same problem while playing F.E.A.R, doesn't matter how many times I change the game configuration and performance, every time I begin playing everything is fine, but after some little time playing it starts to happen. the texture starts on distorting to small green and purple squares flashing around the screen, this only starts to happen after I'm playing for some 3 or 4 minutes, and when it starts, it takes some 40 or 50 seconds for the entire screen starts to flash those little colored squares, I have tried every single configuration in the options menu and it keeps on happening, what could it be?
some game bug? or something else?

do you think?
I have played so many *hardcore* games in the maximum specifications and this has never happened, plus I have a thermaltake case with a nice cooling system, besides, is that supposed to happen even when I minimize the game configuration is set to minimum?
and no matter what it always takes the same time to happen, it's always 3 / 4 minutes to begin distorting, doens't matter if I have the highest config or the lowest config, it aleays happen the same problem....

I've played black & white 2 for the past week like 5 hours in a row and no probs, it's only with this game, I really liked F.E.A.R. it's a really great game, but I cannot play it more than 5 minutes, keep on having the same prob again and again.
is there any way to solve this? any patch? any specific config?

i thought it was just me, looks like some people are having the same problem..anyway it happens 3-5 mins or after each checkpoint..it would fill up with small green and purple squares and even the text is mess up(when subtilte is on), what i do is press esc, go to option, and let it load the menu, go back to game again, and problem solved..but its kinda annoy since i have to do it at each checkpoint =\ btw i have X800XT PE w/o overclock

you have a great card, even so that happens to you, I'm beginning to guess that this is some kind of game bug, we've all seen that this F.E.A.R release is having many in game problems, first it's a retail release, and I hope that the upcomming patch will solve this problem, my hardware is not the top, but is a nice piece and it's also pretty well configured, I have never had problems with overheating and crashing with this PC, I have played all the last released games, and had no problem of any kind, I stop playing F.E.A.R because of this problem, hope it will be fixed soon

2Gb ram, Athlon 64 3200+, ati 9800 xt here.
I never got these little red/black dots before, and it doesnt depend on overheating, since they appear when I load the game, not 3-4 minutes after. I also have Fable, B&W2, BF2, Quake4, with no graphical glitch whatsoever. I don't push the details to maximum, but to medium/high.
Even setting everything to minimum is useless, I always see those little dots flickering around objects in F.E.A.R.
My ATI drivers are updated, 5.10 cats with a totally clean install (even used driver remover).
This game sucks balls in terms of bugs. I hope someone can help.

this game either needs a new release without being a retail one, or it needs the release of a very good bug solving patch, F.E.A.R has a great potential, it's a shame it has so many damn bugs
