when you bid, end it in a random number. Proxy bidding means if someone bids $100.00 and you bid $100.01 then you will win the item.

I dont like buying shit off the internet...the whole credit card online thing...I dunno, i just dont trust any site with sensitive information like that. And, most of the time, if someone gets ur credit card number and makes a dupe card and racks up the money, u get stuck with the bill - unless they find the guy who did it, which rarely happens.
Ever since i saw this thing on 20/20, I'll never buy something online. Some woman had like 25 grand charged to her card by a theif and the credit company basically said, we cant find the theif, so fuck you, your stuck with the bill. She had to take out a 2nd and 3rd mortgage on her house, sell her car and all this shit to pay off the debt - or SHE would be arrested....such bullshit. I mean, u think visa or mastercard or whomever could afford to lose say 5 milliion a year in theft - aren't they billion dollar a year companies anyway? But instead, some poor middle class woman gets stuck with the bill...i think she even had credit insurance...fuckin bullshit.

What I did was put down a maximum bid so far.. I am the current high bidder...so do I have to wait for someone to out bid me before I do a proxy bid!

doesn't work like that really. Say if the bidding from some1 else was on 15 pounds. You could put 16.01 and u would be the top bidder (if his maximum was only 16) but ebay only allows it to go up to certain units so if you put 16.00 in the first place the other guy will still be the highest bidder but the next value u can put in is 17. or somethin like that.
Anyway... Yea I buy and sell on ebay. not frequently but every now and then. I got a molex splitter just the other day . there can be some pretty good bargains on there and ive not had any problems yet.

I bid for a digital camera 8mp. It was cheap. From some German mass seller. I won. After reading about the camera I found out it wasn't really 8mp at all but 4. He was claiming it was 8mp but now he was saying with interpolation. So I refused to buy it. So a few weeks went by. Then I got an email from ebay saying I had a strike against my account. So I sent a letter detailing his mis described item and they agreed with me. Then I started getting letters from a German solicitor. I basically said screw you take me to court and I'll counter sue you. Never heard anything since. I sent a letter the other day which basically outlines that any letter I get in future will be sent to my solicitor and a processing fee of £12 will be charged.
