If you get the security module error that means you need to run it in windows 2000 mode and it will work. Works for me!

Boulotaur2024 , Try using SR7 stop , I tryed CD hide and it causes more problems than good, You may want to try allowing FEAR to access the internet.
But if you really can't use SR7 Stop you could try CD hide , How to set up is below :
In DAEMON tools set emulaton to ALL , Make sure all other emulation applications are closed in the system tray or in the task manager anti-blaxx , A120% , Blindwrite (anything apart from daemon tools) if not you will get the 'Security Module Required' error.
Also make sure you turn off windows 2000 mode , you should be able to run the game without it.

Funny thing here!
SR7.Stop.1.0 doesnt work here!
I was playing with Virtual Cd-hide and w2k compatiblity and then decide to try with Sr7 !
When i click in the hide button the application freezes and it's "not responding"
when i press CTRL+ALT+ DEL !
Any tips??

wow FEAR is TAXING my 2 month old pc already, maybe cuz its a DELL GEN 5 hehe,
Pentium D 3.2ghz DUAL CORE Xtreme Edition ( overclockable to 3.6ghz and STILL laggy), ATI RADEON 256mb x850 PE, 1gb ddr2 667mhz RAM, RAID 0 2x74gb raptors ( 148gb total), i mean those specs are very modest and when i set it to FULL MAX power i get stuttery gfx , this is the first game i have to tone down gfx to, i guess we're entering the next gen of games already, that will require dual gfx cards ..

I tried using SR7 Stop and it says there is nothing to hide?
I have mounted the CD image with DTools 347, it just complains about there not being a disc when i run the game.

I don't understand why everyone is having so many problems with this. SR7.Stop and Daemon Tools works just fine. Not a single problem.

Yea but the fact is if it works on *your* computer, that doesn't mean it wiil work on everybody's computer/
It's mostly because SR7 or any of those Hide-Drive stuff may react very differently depending on your hardware.
I'll give you an example,SR7 freezes my computer when I click 'Hide', that's why I have to use Virtual-cd-hide (and therefore -I think- activate Win 2000 compatibility).
Whereas it works perfectly on my friends computer and at the first try (We've installed it this afternoon).
Oh and I'm tired of those patronizing posts ("Hey guys you're all computer noobs, it worked in 2 clicks with me !").
Now, back to the game, which is not *that* great in SP btw, except for the AI.
edit : sorry for my bad english.

Your not alone iaang I have the same problem, no matter what I do I get some error and ultimatly the game never even loads to the menu. so far I have had atleast 3 errors that I can recall more often then not it was the error you discriibed, then it was some security module and now its detecting emulation software dispite the fact that its hidden.
And there are others with our same problem and everyone seems to think were simply stupid and cant follow 2 step directions. This is not complicated at all. In my case though I have windows 2000 when everyone else seems to have XP.
I'll post back here if I get a fix, you should check out http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16166&highlight=fear+exe+windows+2000+compatible
Alot of help attemps there. Good luck

Didn't work for me at first, fear.exe would crash before it loaded (standard 'would like you to report' window). Patched Fear to 1.01 at it starts just fine with SR7.

Well, I tried mounting it with Alcohol, and it worked fine at first...but after the first restart, I get mega lag. After some retries got it to work and then it screwed up again. Anyone knows how to make it work with alcohol without lag? The fact is it works, but not always, and I would like to find out the source of the change. Daemon tools, do not work well on my system.
Thanks.

You need 'FEAR.mds' file, and mount it in DTools.

This might help those who get slight graphical glitches or crash to desktop issues (it did with me). If you run windowblinds unload it and everything will be hunky dory. Hope this helps.
