Name some famous people / bands from your town or area (if you're from a city). I dont want some stupid things like 'lnogon' i want specific regions like islington etc.
Anyway there's only 2 famous bands from my town, the first are the macc lads. every1 in England has heard of them whenever i meet other ppl and tell em i'm from macc they go 'ahh yea the macc lads... sweaty betty' (1 of their most famous songs)
ian curtis of joy division is from my town too, shame he was a bit of a weirdo.

I went to one of their shows like 14 yrs ago before they were signed and they were just a local band opening for SNFU...they sucked then....they cut their set short cause of feedback issues then SNFU came on and tore the place up awesome night.ahhh the good ole days

ahaha...still I feel for them. I used to sing for a local metal band (obviously, we never got big :lol) oh..about 10-12 years ago, we were called Vicious Arrogance. Anyway, our first 2 shows (at the Kathedral/Reverb, on John St - I think its on John) were fucked. the lead guitarist busted ALL his strings in 3 fuckin songs (he had back up strings that broke too). The next show, the feedback fucked us over, like sloan
Still, I think we were better than them
We ended up playing like 3 or 4 more shows at the Kathedral, and then my band told me then didnt want to play black/death/scream ur face of metal - they wanted a softer, more alternative sound. We broke up and I just never got around to finding another band  The lead guitarist, this dude Chris, was FUCKIN AWESOME. I still see him from time to time and honestly, he is one of the best lead guitarist's ive ever seen. His hands are so fast and he just knows music. Plus he as an old Strat, so beautiful (its from the 60's or 70's i think). |

Ive lived in Toronto all my life and I still dont know (in terms of street names) where half the places I have been are Maybe its because I havent driven in like....6 or 7 years?
yeah, the Reverb/Kathedral is a dive, but its a good place for local bands and not so big name rockers to preform. Ive seen some awesome bands there. I saw a band called JAW one time....man, like Cannibal Corpse, but 100x better. And u can buy any sorta "party enhancement" from the bouncers...well, atleast when I was going there.
Billy Talent? Dude....u MUST be fuckin jokin...seriously. I betcha 90% of the board can sing better than that crackhead...like his whole stage presence is stupid, retarded and fucked up. Man...i really hate him...and that indian dude on guitar who has like a block head....such a dumb fuckin haircut. |
