Depends on how you downloaded them. If they're multiple rar files, you could try getting the par files to fix them.

they are numbered files, ie. .001 to .00x... downloaded using azureus... how do par files fix them? all of them have the error...

Sorry Mag but the guy just wants help. Were you never a newbie once?
Nurse, get winrar from http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
At least version 3.47.

Make sure u have the latest WinRar and like Jenni suggested, check the site where u got it for .par or .par2 files. Search google for QuickPar (par recovery tool). If u have enough par's it should recover the missing blocks in each of the rars.

But the best thing to do if u find using pars to complicated (im not being a smartass, some ppl dont use them) is download another copy from somewhere. It sounds like u either have a tampered copy or the server u got it from didnt send all the blocks in the rar (hence the missing rar blocks).

I was never a newbie Razz.

As for your problem the things Jenni and Sycho have suggested are all great, I am a little worried you may have gotten stuck slightly before this point, as some people sometimes do.

Are you sure the download finished? Bit Torrent will create all of the files on your hard drive before it has downloaded them, they will look to be fully intact but are infact simply empty files taking up the space while it downloads, you should double check to see if your download is complete by re-startting the torrent file and telling it to download to the same place you downloaded it to before.

The reason I say this is because Bit Torrent has EMENSE error checking (every 1mb block is CRC checked with the source) so unless your source was dead (which is possible) its unlikely this corruption happens during the download stages.

Good luck

Don't most torrent clients tag an incomplete file with a !bc marker? I'm sure they do.

hi syn, thanks for your input...unfortunately i've already tried re-checking the torrent in azureus...and now it says its only at 1.5% whereas a few days ago it said 100% and put it in the seeding section...
HOWEVER - since my last post i had remembered that i had a major problem with something else the other day and azureus played up and i think thats where it went wrong cause it was at like 90 something percent done...

Your right too jenni and syn, bittorrent is almost flawless in its error checking and labelling of bad files SO i guess i just have to resign myself to the fact that something stuffed up and d/l it again!... oh well...thanks all anyway..
