Quote:
Datel have done it again! This is truly what all PSP owners have been waiting for! 4GB of storage! Up until now, the largest storage that has been available to PSP owners was the 1Gb Pro Duo Memory Stick. Then within the last week or so, we have seen the emergence of the 2Gb Memory Sticks, with their large price tags! However Datel are always on the lookout for the next exceptional console-related product. One of the first major products for the PSP from Datel was the X2 battery - with this you could double the playing time of your PSP.

And now they have gone one step further!

4GB of storage and an X2 battery combined! That’s right double the storage and double the playing time. But wait there’s even more! Believe it or not, they are even throwing in one of their other ground-breaking products for the PSP - the Get Connected Media Cable and it’s media software.

What a wicked bundle this is and it still costs less than the price of a solitary 2GB pro duo card!!

We are expecting demand to be very, very high for this package. Stock will be available on a first come, first served basis in around two weeks – place a preorder on the site now to reserve yours here. Price will be confirmed before dispatch of your order.

Watch this space for more info as soon as it becomes available

Please Note: This is currently only a guide delivery date. Please subscribe to the mailme link above for updates.

Datel 4GB PSP Hard Drive - Features:

4Gb of HDD storage
3600mh X2 battery power
Max media get connected cable and software

What's In The Box:

1 x PSP 4GB Hard Drive Bundle

and all this can be YOURS for the low low price of your sooouuullllll

i mean a 4gb drive does sound damn sexy, but at that price? its just a little too pricey for me at the moment... i dont think theres enough homeless people in my city i can harvest organs from, to pay for that...

besides... its a 4gb hd... for the psp... i wonder if sony has insisted on restrictions for it (ie file extension/size restrictions? NO eboot files?), because this would be a pirates dream, and that WONT make sony happy... i suggest noone preorder it! let other 'test bunnies' spend their money on it, and let them report back if its worth buying or not Very Happy

my preference is still for that 2gb sandisk memory stick... oh, and that 'new and improved' sony battery, once they both drops down in price a bit...

...and thats bs that its cheaper than a 2gb memory stick!!

How does 32 Gig sound then!? Very Happy

The clever chaps over at neoflash.com have come up with a way to use their memory converter with your PSP.

The memory converter will support SD / MMC / CF, up to 32GB !!!

That's right 32GB, imagine the amount of movies and games on that, you'll be able to Read / Write files through PSP link to PC USB port directly.

It also supports every format, from MP4, UMD Movies to ISO's.

Release date: Christmas 2005 (get writting to that big fat fella)

maybe its just me, but does that seem to anyone else, to kinda go AGAINST the whole portable nature of the device Very Happy

i want the system as streamlined and compact as possible, which is why im not really interested in that hd/battery combo, because most psp cases arent big enough for it, and it makes the system clunky and oversized... if i want a great system with loads of storage space, and no battery worries... damn, ill just use my pc... if i want something simple, and portable, with no fuss, ill use my psp... mmm maybe with that 2gb memory stick im eye'in up... yeaaahhhhh! Very Happy

LOL theirs people on ebay trying to sell Pre Orders of that 4GB thing for £180 Buy it now and they say "Cheapest Around"... I bet their is idiots that will as well Smile

Also That NEO thing seems to require a Powersource from looking at the pic which makes it not very portable Smile...

I will be happy with my 1Gig card I got for £50 I think Smile

This is clearly just a prototype board. Note the 7 seg displays, LEDs, Dip Switches, 2 com ports, and a power cord. The finished product will look nothing like that. This is just a board for development. Kinda like a 68HC11 micro controller board.( looks very similar) But the actual Micro Controler is about the size of a compact flash card.

What im am going to try. There is this new device that allows 2 usb devices to share data, theres a link on pspupdates (To lazy to hunt it down) Its fairly cheap 2.

From PSPUpdates
Aleratec USB Copy Cruiser Plus is new and unique. The USB Copy Cruiser Plus copies digital pictures, MP3 files and other data between USB drives without a computer. With the USB Copy Cruiser Plus you can quickly transfer data between USB drives and Flash Memory cards where ever you are. The easy to use control buttons and LCD display allow you to choose specific files, folders or all files and folders to copy.

Copy Cruiser Plus is on sale on Amazon.com for $79.99 and usually ships in 24 hours.

So theroretically i can use my USB HD to copy between this and my PSP,Camera, and PDA.

I got the 4 gig datel drive from www.darkplanets.co.uk on release day.In my opinion, when used with the 2X battery pack its actually more ergonomic than standard as your fingers fit just nice around the devices.I currently have 5 games on there and apart from burnout they all run perfectly.Ive noticed on burnout there is a little hard drive skip now and again but not enough to frustrate me and it doesnt effect the audio.

Is it when the game changes audio tracks? I have the UMD version and it pauses for a split second when the audio track changes. I thought there was something wrong with my game at first but I think its normal.
