xbox version has Shit to do with the pc in terms of the piracy protetcion.
Im one of those fans who played the pc back in 2001+it's expansions. And it's one the best Soldier simulators out there.
1 Operation Flashpoint
2 Americas Army
This one is a port with improved grapichs and the expansion resistance incorporated in the single player campaign.
It's NOT a sequel, it's a port with improved grapichs.
xb version the grapichs are outdated, but the simulator engine still kicks ass.
It is important to make the distinction between Operation Flashpoint: Elite being a ‘Military Simulator’ and not a traditional First Person / Third Person Shooter (FPS/TPS). Attempting to play Operation Flashpoint: Elite as you would Halo 2 for instance will result in certain failure as ‘run-and-gun’ tactics just don't work. As an accurate simulation of military combat, you have to play Operation Flashpoint: Elite as if your own arse was on the line. When the rounds start flying you must get down low and get behind cover or you will soon find yourself dead. You can not survive many bullet or shrapnel wounds and on the harder difficulty levels, dying after only one shot is common…as in real life.
I personaly HATE arcade games like: Halo 2, CS, Battlefiled 2 etc etc etc. I prefer games like OPF/AA, where you have to use your mind/skills/teamwork/tactics to succed.
Im actually considering doing the campaing one more time on the xbox version
Weapons/animations are VERY important in games like OPF/AA, and once again the game feels very true to it's genre.
It's one of the best Army game's i've played, but it's not for evryone. Im I the only one who did the pc version in 2001 on nforce?[/url]

Of course there's no antipiracy on the Xbox game. I was just stating the fact that the PC version apparently did when it was released.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Back to getting shot and dying, then shooting and killing. Ah the good life.

Ofp on PC is by far the best military game ever released. Graphics are even when polished not very great, even when the game was first released on PC about 5 years ago,, but in terms of atmosphere it beats every other fps game ever released until today. There wasn't a game since ofp which gave you more a feeling of being inmidst of something so big that you can't change and can't really fight. And OFP resistance campaign has still the best storytelling of all military shooters.
Yeah its too bad the halo kids will overlook this one. The game never got the attention it deserved in the USA, in europe, especially russian countries its a big thing, but USA simply didn't care about the game. Actually, every other fps, including shellshock 1969 and killzone looked like a kiddy game when compared to OFP in terms of gritty war atmosphere. Its just a lot more immersive...

I've been playing this game solidly for the past two days.and it is without doubt the sleeper game of the year.
I have waiting in the wings the clarion calls of COD2, FEAR,Rez Evil 4, CIV 4,Quake 4, Shadow of the Clossus but this game has engrossed me like no other for a long long time.
I played the PC version many moons back and was gripped by the open gameplay and cold war setting. But the fade technology kept kicking in, resulting in numerous bsod/return to desktop malarkey. This blunted my enthusiasm and I eventually gave up on it, as there was no patches on the horizon at the time.
Now released with little or no fanfare on the Xbox 4 years later, I thought I’d give it another go.
I was sceptical at first, as to how Bohemia were going to get this beast running on basically a bootstrapped 733 /geforce ‘puter/console. They have done a remarkable job considering the constraints… Yeah all you naysayers complaining ‘bout the gfx/framerate. One thing that shines through….. The gameplay.
Do yourself a favour and give it a bit of time, see past the ageing engine and rather clunky first few chapters and the game really opens up. Taking all the best bits from games like wargasm, project igi and serving them up in a heady cocktail of tactical action war gaming set on a vast cold war battlefield
Though not perfect, its charms aren’t as well sculpted as say this years AAA fairground round shooters such as COD 2, it has personality in spades.
In the tidal wave of releases that is Q4, I’m sign posting this game. It deserves it.
So if you like your games with a tad more depth, give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.
