Hi!

Surprised not to see a post of this game on the front page of this forum. Anyway, it's scheduled to be released on the Nov. 8th, promises a heck of fun but... I was so disapointed by BW2 (which was made by Lionhead too) that I'm already ready to face countless bugs in this one. Not to mention that the initial promise was that "you can do whatever you want, the way you want, where you want it to be done". Well, it doesn't seem so...

I've read lots of reviews and watched all the movies I could get, and so far, I'm so disapointed on the fact that:

    1- Your films MUST BE based on the scenes that come with the game. If you want anything different, go learn some heck of 3d studio... No freeform!
    2 -Maximum of 16 actors on one scene...
    3- Yahoo games has a very good video/walkthrough here and there you can see that some scenes are really limited.. For example, there seems to be only 5 scenes to interact with horses...You want to enter a building? Ok, 1 or 2 persons only, otherwise you need another scene..
    4- You don't have freedom over the camera angles, they are pre-defined;
    5- No slow motion built in;
    6- There aren't many sets, so be prepared to make lots of movies using the same kitchen, tthe same corner, the same underground station.
    7- No f** swords! No way to edit a medieval era film.
    8- The view of the studio is so big and so detailed that I'm sure my RADEON 9800 PRO won't be able to handle the load.
    9- The game aims a rating for 10 years old, so no porn whatsoever Very Happy
    10- If BW2 is so buggy now, how will Lionhead handle 2 bugged games at the same time? I won't be surprised if the first patch is released in 4-5 months.

However, this is the first of a series that I'm sure will be very acclaimed. Just remember how Sims1 were, and what's Sims2 now. I'm sure that there will be lots of expansion packs with different eras/scenarios, and I like very much the combination of different styles of play (Sims + tycoon + movie maker).

For those who are really looking forward this game (as myself), get the Star Maker app released by Lionsoft on this site: http://www.themoviesplanet.com/ . It's a tool to create faces for your upcoming stars, and I think it has even more options than "The Sims 2". Just 100mb, it's worth it.

Now, what do you say about this game?

Cheers!

I think this thread is cool, it's atleast a discussion about the GAME and not the protection or how to install it etc.

Those facts you posted made me a bit dissapointed, but i will still play the game and see how it works.
Maybe there will be mods to get more people on a scene and enter a house and so on.
Fingers crossed.
I'm a big fan of these type of games, like Sims 1-2, Tycoon games, BW2, and this. Just hope i wont be too dissapointed though

I thought that templates were used only for releases. But if you think that's important, and if you post it "templated" here, I can edit my original post. In fact, I just wanted to create a topic to discuss THE GAME, not the releases or copy protection, so I thought that maybe it wasn't necessary to worry about anything else.

Damn, sometimes I feel that using this forum is too complicated.
